Yesterday.

Good morning!

Ripley just joined the CPC club!
Now it's time for the dreaded antibiotics... Yes, giving the ab after she eats is much smarter than before. Glad she trained me on that one!

No poo yet; none in the lb yesterday, either (unless it happened while she was in the backyard for those 3 hours yesterday). The pet-ema will hopefully be administered tomorrow night...

Thinking about and sending vines to sick kitties and worried beans :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Morning Josie ~O)

Interesting, I always pill before eating, on the theory that the food will force the meds down, before he has a
chance to hork them up

Nice almost-blue amps, have a great day!

Re: 1/27 Ripley AMPS 203

I'm glad you found something that works for her and she is eating.

I feel a little ohmygod_smile because I neglected to send you this link on Feline Constipation. It's a great website written by one of the ladies who helped me in the Yahoo CRF group with our GA Max. I actually reviewed this site for her as she was constructing it. I hope it will help you and Ripley.

Also...I can give you much info in cheapest places to get supplies for doing fluids, the binder, getting lactated ringers, etc. when you are ready. You will need a script from your vet for the LRS and insist on it over Normosol. Normosol is not the best pick for CKD kitties. Your vet will sell you fluids and needles but the prices are  and they usually use harpoon needles instead of the smaller 21g.

Just PM me when you want another info dump and I will post it here for you :-D

Come on down Ripley!

Re: 1/27 Ripley AMPS 203

Morning uys, yay for the CPC ! Hope the ab administration went well! Sending poo vines your way, hope she poops so you don't have to do the enema. Have a great Sunday!

Re: 1/27 Ripley AMPS 203

Morning Josie, glad the AB's went well. I usually give Mags her meds after eating, too. Congrats on the CPC club. Mag and I are sending Ripley poo vines. I hope the pet enema comes tomorrow. Amazon usually comes on time. Have a nice day.

Hi, all! Thanks for the visits!

She went into the lagoon today!! Yay!!

Ripley got some sun time this afternoon, but is acting 'not well.' Don't really know how to explain, except that the look in her eyes is a little sad. She's sleeping now in her rocking chair, but earlier she was lying on her side w/eyes open for a while.

There's no poo yet  . I soooooo hope tomorrow night's enema helps out nailbite_smile .

Marje, thank you so much for the link and the fluids info! I'll let you know if I have :?: s.

Re: 1/27 Ripley AMPS 203, +5.5 94

Hi Josie, congrats to Ripley for making it to the Green Lagoon. How many days is it since Ripley had a poo? They don't feel well when they're impacted. I sure hope she goes overnight. Mags sleeps with her eyes part open sometimes, too! :-D At first it freaked me out, and I tapped her and just fine. Sending vines for Ripley for a poo and to feel better.

Hi, Ann! It was nice to see Ripley back in her green sundress today  . I guess not feeling well and/or constipation can lead to higher numbers? As far as I know, she hasn't poo'd since Friday am. Poor girl. There hopefully will be some relief after her enema tomorrow night nailbite_smile . Thanks for the vines!

Ripley is eating dinner, but is needing more coaxing w/treats than she needed this morning.

I've been trying to teach myself how to feel her body for constipation (compared to civie) but I'm not sure I can tell the difference. Ripley is generally, um, a little thicker than Smokey.

Sending vines to those who need them tonight!

~Josie

Was just watching R sleep; clenching her body from time to time. Not twitching/dreaming, but def. not comfy. My poor girl.

Hoping to wake for a +6, but we'll see...

Sweet dreams LL!

I hope the Pet-ema can fix the poo problem.

I've never seen it not fix the problem.

And I've seen some problems that seemed as though they needed more involved vet intervention.

Kind of like child birth.

BTW I found that once you get it all out, you want to get the right amount of Miralax mixed into every bite of food after that.

Just one meal without Miralax might be enough to stop things up again. So I mix the Miralax and the binder thoroughly into every bite of food along with plenty of water.

Both are apparently completely tasteless and undetected.
