Back from vetty. Purrdy has conjuntivitis, been prescribed Conoptal drops. His missing back fur is most likely explained by fleas as suspected and as already being treated for. His legs have improved a lot
Is the conjuntivitis likely to have been keeping him running a bit higher, i.e. is treating it likely to cause him to drop?
Neko had conjunctivitis, but before FD, so I wasn't tracking BGs - much less had heard that you could do so! It is inflammation, so that could cause higher numbers.
Lots of healing vines going out to Purrdy.
PS: We were at a unseasonal 16.5C today. Stay cool where you are.
I'm glad Purrdy's legs are doing much better...that is awesome!!!! I don't know about the conjuctivitis...but from what we know of FD, I imagine getting it under control can only help.
Bummer on the partial furshot- no clue on the conjunctivitis, but it sure makes sense that any infection would impact the BG. Hope Purdy feels better soon!
Conjunctivitis just means inflammation in the eye, any inflammation can raise BG. Do you know what the cause of the conjunctivitis? Conjunctivitis is often caused by feline herpes virus. I don't think it can be totally eliminated, but l-Lysine helps to keep it dormant once the outbreak is quelled.
@Ann & Tess - Really Ann, Purrdy is not that sort of cat- herpes indeed! Well actually he may be, but the vet confirmed his conjunctivitis was caused by bacteria rather than a virus. Lowest PS since a couple of days after mum first noticed an issue with his eye - my hopes are high gotta take those highs!!!
I think conjuctivitis is what we used to call Pinkeye. It is spread easily, so "wash your hands, please". Sending vines for speedy healing. Glad that Purrdy is Getting around so much better.
Nice BG's for you Purrdy! Keep those blues and greens coming. Bummer on the conjunctivitis, but I too ahve heard that the drops so work. Hope Purrdy is better soon.
