Doodles 1/26 The boy doesn't want to work the juice :( We have plans to take the bikes out for an event to help save dozens of local Wild Horses tomorrow. Pretty sure Doodles will decide to break the bounce tomorrow so I can't go. He's back to being picky with his wet food and will only eat it when a Stella & Chewy treat is crumbled on it. Otherwise nothing new with my sweet bossy boy.

Surf safely kitties.

I hope Doodles slides down and surfs for you today. I hope he stops being so picky about his food. Sending prayers.

You'd better tell the Doodlebug that the event is Sunday!
There's quite a few foods Boomer won't eat without a treat crumbled on it. Cats!:cat:

That sounds like a great event and a great cause
The horses are so beautiful and have been living freely by the Salt River in Tonto National Forest for over 20 years. Recently the Feds wanted to round them up, remove them and you know what comes next:( Most of our friends are true cowboys/ cowgirls and have been fighting for these horses. Luckily the even is less than a mile from our house so worse case I go and keep coming home etc. http://saltriverwildhorsemanagementgroup.org/

Thanks for linking that article. Wow, what a majestic site to see those horses in their natural habitat. Great cause, Karen! Question: how are they being supplied food by the SRWHMG ? Wondering about their food source and why do the feds feel they have to be rounded up and removed?

Doodles, please slide down easily so Momma and Daddy can go and help out with a good cause.

I'm not a 100% sure Bobbie about the food but believe they eat natural sources living in the wild. The Feds believe they are a danger to people. One had recently roamed into the street and got hit by a car. My friends ride their horses to the River all the time to see them etc. I should follow it a bit more closely :oops:

You can float down the Salt River in the summer on a tube and seeing those horses are part of the beautiful scenery. There's a spot about 15 min. from me where they hang out pretty often.

So very cool. I hope you and DH can make it to the event tomorrow.

Those wild horses sound beautiful - a danger to people?? I used to camp on Cumberland Island where there were wild horses running along the moonlit ocean beaches!! My heart breaks when I hear about these periodic roundups. Well, there's a new age of activism now so people power!! Call McCain's office
BTW, this photo of Doodles is so gorgeous - I so want to stroke his fur

Work that juice, Doodles, but time it appropriately, OK?

Good luck tomorrow...great cause! I can't stand when people "blame" animals like that...dangerous to humans my patooty!

Nope I'm ready for tomorrows ride!!!!!

Hope you are able to make the event tomorrow. My neighbor has a small rescue and a few years ago got in 3 mustangs that the BLM had rounded up and adopted out. They were rescued just before they were taken into Mexico for slaughter. One of them turned out to be pregnant and delivered a beautiful foal shortly after arrival. She also has some wild burros rescued from the Mohave. Good luck tomorrow.

In the case of the 3 I mentioned, the government sells them to supposed good homes, but at some point someone got them and was taking them for slaughter in Mexico, since it was not legal to slaughter them in USA. (I think that's still the law) government claims there are too many for the land to sustain them, so they round them up and adopt them out. There are adoptions held in different areas off and on throughout the year.
