I think that Meme is not feeling well today, this antibiotic gave her nausea as i think. She is acting fine but not intresting in food, smell it and go away, then she ate alittle after few hourse but seems like she can not chew !! Even when she is not eating she is moving her mouth like she is trying to chew something.

Vet told me that her healing progress is very good and nothing to worry about.

Could this be a nausea!! Last time i asked her vet to give me something and she told me they only have shots and it stings and as meme is well regulated then no need for it.

But now i really thing that this antibiotic is giving her bad time, she through up yesterday as well:arghh:.

A lot of people give probiotics about 2 or 3 hours after giving antibiotics. The antibiotics kill off all the bacteria, and the probiotics put the good bacteria that they need back in. Did the vet check her teeth again after her recent dental? Sending feel better tummy vines to Meme.

Yes she did that and said that everything is good, i start probiotics yesterday hope it helps.

Poor Meme. I hope the probiotics will help. Another thing that nauseous cats do is smack their lips. Antibiotics can be hard on the tummy and GI tract.

That definitely sounds like nausea to me, can your vet give her a cerenia shot perhaps? The shot does sting a bit, but it lasts for 24 hours and if the result is no nausea and more eating, worth the 2 seconds of sting in my opinion. Glad you started probiotics and hope Meme is feeling better soon. :bighug:

Are you giving her a probiotic? They need that just like we do with antibiotics. Acidophilus without milk products.

Yes i gave her, i only have paste formula, i ordered powder one from amazon and should arrive soon, she ate her meal now and finished her dish. but is she going to through up every time i gave her the antibiotics:(, there is still 5 more days.

Get human. You just use a pinch in food a few times a day. Hi used Country Life Acidophilus with pectin. Dairy free.

I would call the vet and tell them what is going on and maybe they will change the antibiotic to a different one that would be kinder on the tummy. Or they might say no need to give anymore antibiotics. It's worth a call.

I agree with Bobbi -- I would call your vet. Not all antibiotics work well for every cat. There may be a different antibiotic that won't upset Meme's stomach.

If your kitty is nauseated, Cerenia -- either in a shot form or pill may help. Ondansatron is also good for vomiting and nausea.

I know she has lower numbers, so it's probably not likely, but with all she has going on with the throwing up and not eating and the stress she has had lately, could you possibly get a ketone test just to make sure? Sending eating vines and tummy feel much better vines to your Meme. I hope she keeps her dinner in her tummy.
