...and she's back in the flatlands. I do like the flatness, I just wish it was a hair lower, and would STAY a hair lower. Oh well...it is far better than diving and bouncing - good girl, Trix!

I have a loooooong class to teach today - I have a feeling I'm going to be totally drained after work. Have a great Friday, LL!

Flat blue is pretty good. I would trade that for bounces too. Now just drop it down a floor Trixie. I hope your class goes well and that the day flies by. Have a great day Amy!

I vote that flat blue is nice, too, especially since you have a long day. Trixie may be on to something with the flatness. Good luck with your class today.

I have to take Petey to the vet in a few minutes. This morning when he was eating, he suddenly started pawing at his face, like something was caught between his cheek and gum. It had him VERY freaked out (wimpering, running, etc), which had me freaked out. It happened a second time, a few hours later, so it's off to the vetty we go. Hopefully it's a stuck kibble, but I have to make sure it's not a broken tooth or something else. I'm very worried, and at this point in time I am just so hypersensitive to every little thing, with all we've had going on over the past few months. I can't stand it...we can't seem to buy a break for nothing.

Vines are greatly appreciated...for both Petey and my nerves!

We hope Petey is OK and are sending lots of vines and good thoughts. You don't need this right now, that's for sure.

A yellow start for the night...a little "sympathtic vetty stress" maybe???

Petey Update:
When we had him in a few weeks ago for the vomiting/weight loss/food issues, the vet mentioned that the gum was receding around his one molar, and it would "eventually" need to come out. "Eventually" is now "immediately"...he has an emergency dental scheduled for Monday. The tooth is loose (barely hanging on by a thread) and bleeding. So either he bit on it this morning, or food got caught in it. We have to start ABs and pain meds tonight and run them till after the procedure. Sunday will be hellish, because we have to pick up food and water at 6:00 - with 5 hungry cats, it's going to be a loooong evening. He has to be at the vet by 6:30 Monday morning.

Pretty rough while I was waiting...in one room, I could hear a cat was getting diagnosed with lung cancer, and in the other was a totally freaked out cat - that sent Petey into a growling extra-stressed mode. And, I was stuck waiting in Mario's "last" room while we waited. My appointment was at 3:20, but we didn't get seen till after 4:00....just got home, now it's time to feed everyone....

I don't know if we'll EVER get a break from these veterinary nightmares....



Maybe one of these days we'll get a veterinary break, but it doesn't seem likely....

I'm sorry Amy - many positive vines for Petey. What an afternoon for you, what an ordeal to have to wait so long, to hear and feel what you did. Mannie and I send many hugs.

Both are lined up for this evening....I don't know how much more my nerves can take!

On a positive note, she was thrilled that he gained nearly 2lbs in 3 weeks and that he is no longer barfing since we switched off the Blue Basics. She is confident that his elevated calcium levels were related to that old diet, but we will retest in a few weeks to confirm.

Hi Amy, oh poor Petey and also you, but glad you got him in and the problem diagnosed. Sending tons of vines and prayers for both Petey and you. You deserve some good dark chocolate and wine, have a second glass on me. :-D (((Hugs)))

Vetty visits can be so emotional and draining for us beans (of course for our pets, too). I always have a hard time seeing another client being told bad news; we've all been in that situation, so empathy and sadness is abundant. A few wks ago we took our dog in for a checkup & we were put into the same room that was Lucy's last room (Ripley's sis); I saved my tears for when we got back into the car. That is a tough association to have.

I hope Petey can be as comfy as possible through the weekend, and I'll be thinking about him Monday. Poor guy.

I second the wine & chocolate!

I am so sorry Amy that you have to go through all this & now with Petey!! Sending no pain & Healing Vines to Petey ...And I so know how you feel at the vet..We are going tomorrow again (same vet who dx'd Copper, her same vets, same office & all that!!)
Sometimes we dont and cant have control of things, that's what I learned recently..But things do get Better!
Prayers for Healing to Petey & calming vines to you--Big Hugs & Love from us!

Oh Amy......I feel so bad for Petey..he doesn't understand why his toofey hurts. I hope the pain med is working by now.

Sorry for you too, as you didn't need another vetty problem.
I'm sorry you had to be in the same room as your last visit with Mario. It's too soon. :YMHUG:

Thank you, everyone...my LL family is just so amazing - we feel the luv! Petey is doing perfectly fine this evening. Honestly, if it weren't for the events of the morning, I would never know anything was wrong. As I'm sure you can understand, I just cannot wait until this dental is over with. Monday is my scheduled day off next week, and DH is actually planning on taking the day, too...not that either of us can do much while we wait, but at least we'll be waiting together...

Vetty visits just take SO much out of me. In our house, there is no such thing as a simple "wellness" visit...every time we go, it's for one problem or another...it is so exhausting. And yes, I so totally hate hearing others in distress, too...it was a rough one, today.

Maybe NEXT month we'll get by without going to the vetty.... :YMSIGH: ...

I'm so sorry about Petey but I am glad he is better tonight. Sending him healing vines for this weekend and good dental vetty vines.

I understand about the vet stuff. Every time you turn around its something. It would be nice for you to go even a couple weeks without having to go t the vet.
