Good Friday morning, everyone,

Another cold night (-15 at bedtime). We snuggled in our quilt. Rusty ate all his nighttime food and this morning charged downstairs for his test. He had a good shot, Wellness Chicken breakfast (1st sitting eaten), and a nap in his little bed by the radiator. I offered him a schmooze, but he preferred the radiator! The temperature is up to -5 and the sun is shining. Today we will again walk to the post office and this afternoon make a trip to the landfill.

OT: we are reeling because last night a fire destroyed Placid Boatworks, the boat-building shop owned by our friend. Beautiful solo canoes in the process of being built, and all his equipment, gone. We don't know the details yet. 12 fire companies responded, but it was so cold that the water coming out of the hoses froze. They could not get inside to fight the fire.

Linda's Pinkerton is home and we hope that they both had a good night. Continuing to send healing vines to him and to all other kitties and beans in need.

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your friends boat shop...what a shame! I hope they have good insurance...I know that won't replace all the hard work already done on the boats he was working on, but at least it won't be a total wash. Please tell him I will say prayers for him.

Spot and Rusty are twins this morning!

BTW...I have not been able to get the package out yet.....I have this huge party I am organizing at work for this weekend and with me being off three days this week, I am spending all my hours here trying to get things together and haven't had time to print out my mailing addresses. I promise you it will be out by Wednesday!
(I have the jam and the tote at my house)

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

Good morning Ella. Great way for Rusty to begin a new day. Surely you'll see green this cycle.

I'm sorry to hear of your friends loss of his business due to a fire. I caught a portion of a report on this morning's news about a fire somewhere in New York. They had pictures of firefighters covered in ice with ice sickles 3" long hanging from their hats. They also had problems with the water freezing.

Take care on your walk to the P.O. Have a great day.

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

Morning Ella, yikes that is really cold there in your area! It looks like the LagoonMeister will be supervising the Green Lagoon today. I hope it warms up by the time you and Edward take your two mile walk. So sorry about your friends boat-building shop. That is so terrible. I hope they can find the cause.

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

Nice start for Rusty! What a good boy. Snuggling his beans and keeping you all warm.

I am so very sorry to hear about your friends shop. That is devastating. Have a great day Ella!

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

Morning guys oh that is so terrible about your friends's shop. Prayers being sent to them. Nice start for Rusty this morning. Hope you guys get above zero today brrrrrrr. Have a happy Fursday!

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 112

Good Morning Ella.

What a nice start to Rusty's day. Hope he continues to give you nice "You can go out" numbers, so you don't have to worry about leaving him. I don't recall seeing him dive tho.

What a devastating thing to happen to your friend. I can't even imagine the feeling of seeing all your life's work, going up in flames.
I saw on the news, how firefighters are trying to cope with water freezing, coming from the hoses, and how hard it is on them to feel helpless.

Have a nice afternoon, Ella and Edward.....as you say..."wear your woolies" :-D

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 115, +5.5 107

Hi again,
I had to correct Rusty's AMPS to 115 (remembered it wrong). He had a nice morning in the sunny window. We had a good combing. Breakfast was finished just before +5.5 test and lunch, so far, sniffed at. Rusty free feeds, as you all probably know, but I have been a bit concerned lately that he is not eating enough and has lost 7 ounces since the beginning of December. (We had been halfheartedly trying to get him to lose his extra weight, but had not done anything to modify his diet.) Perhaps it is seasonal doldrums, or perhaps is is because he needs less insulin now, but next week I plan to take him to the vetty bean just to have him checked out.

Off now to the landfill. bbl,

Ella & Rusty

I hope Rusty keeps surfing green for you. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's boat shop.

Re: 1/25 Rusty AMPS 115, +5.5 107, +9 86, PMPS 111

Hi again,

The LagoonMeister is having a rest day, mostly on shore.

Rusty and I had a great play session this afternoon involving lots of his toys. He really enjoyed himself. He did finally eat all of his lunch (over the course of the afternoon).

We drove by the boatworks shop on our way to the landfill: it is totally destroyed. So sad. I hope our friend can afford to stay in business and re-build.

off to visit condos.

Looks like some beautiful numbers for Rusty today! Hope he keeps eating well for you!
So sorry about the boat shop, so tragic to lose a business..
Hope tomorrow is warmer & a bette day--Hugs & Love from us!

Thanks for visiting us. Tonight it is actually above zero (+5 degrees F.)! It feels almost warm. Rusty is downstairs, batting his bell balls around, waiting for us to call him to bed. What a cat!

Glad Rusty had a nice day and I hope he's ok and that it's just a weird seasonal weight loss.

Brrrrrrrr....I do not miss those freezing temps! I am so, so very sorry about your friend's loss. It must be devastating to see your life's work go up in flames.
