Ok... I may be jumping the gun here and not being patient enough. He is seeing 70s and 80s during much of first half of cycle. I work again today so cannot get anything past a +5.5 again to see where he is later in cycle. I will do that tomorrow.

I'm becoming slightly concerned about his numbers trending higher overall. I know lantus is about the nadir not the preshot. Just noticing overall still green but tending higher.

This morning is cycle 6 so I know I should give it a little longer before I decide if it's a failed reduction.

It's possible this 179 is the high before he goes low/breaks the bounce. He dipped to limes on 1/22 and 1/23 and yesterday could have been a mini-bounce.

I would not call this a failed reduction yet!

I'm not ready to call it failed just yet. Last time I was feeling this way he ended up earning the last reduction next day LOL. Maybe my mere ponderous thought will snap him into shape

Curious to see if he continues to drop at +3.
Me too. We have dinner with friends tonight so I will be gone from shot time till probably about +2.5 to +3. A little nervous as no one will be home to make sure he eats +1. But I'm sure it will be fine. I can always give higher carb preshot meal if he is indeed lower at pmps

his blue numbers may even have something to do with him getting pork pieces, thats only thing that was really diff other than the 4% hes been eating. could clean cooked pork cause higher BG?
So pretty sure you meant to post this on your condo:)...but having said that. I wouldnt think pure protein would affect bg all that much but I know pork is so different than beef chicken or fish. Odds are it's the consistent feeding of 4% so once you can get to 3 and below he may readjust. He may be super carb sensitive like LM

haha, i deleted it..oops.
ya, i think he is like LM. i go get lower carb 2day

I had to take my newbie back to the rescue and it broke my heart. I just did it on Sunday. He was intensely biting me at night when he would lay next to me in bed and when I would reach out, slowly, to pet him he would turn, grab my arm with all fours, and bite down. I would yell "No" and he would bite harder. I eventually would have to push him off and, a couple of times, he would recoil and go after my arm again. I have no idea what was causing him to act like this because I know he liked me. He would come up on my bed every night and lie down right next to me. He would also follow me around the house during the day. I just don't understand and never will. He was also attacking my foxhound and I felt really bad for her. I finally had to make the decision that he was not right for my family. He went back to the rescue where they will look for another adopter. I hope he will be better with them. Heartbreaking experience and one I have never done before but I just could not handle an aggressive, unpredictable cat. I am looking for another cat that will be sweet with me and my Mom and my pups. Keep your fingers crossed that I will find that kitty to be a forever kitty in my home.

Aww I'm so sorry that he was so aggressive. I'm sure he loved you but just was wild...maybe he was a feral that was picked up and turned in. Sending good love to find a new rescue

Ok as soon as I give his shot we are leaving for dinner with friends. Since he seems to be dropping again I did give 4% for supper and put LC with 9% in feeder for +1 and 4% for +2. We should be home by +2.5 to +3 tonight (LM is my excuse for not staying out too late I'm beat after working today LOL)

Well I was almost a little worried I overcorrected because he is so carb sensitive but nope 68...guess it was good. He ate when the feeder went off too so that is even better! Well I guess it could have been the civvie...but he has been better at night.
