After a BEAUTIFUL run yesterday, Mr. Liver showed up for a late night party after pm+7. It was nice to see decent numbers after all these stinky pinks lately. He started ab's yesterday (baytril) for bad respiratory bug going around. He started coughing lightly day before yesterday, this may have been contributing to the high numbers. He's feeling better today.

KT's not the only one on ab's, most of the cats have shared it, I'm dosing all the cats for it - a whole house of coughing cats. We did a round of this 4 years ago and almost lost KT and Nuisance because we didn't start treating quickly. THIS TIME, I wasn't about to wait - would rather be too early and dose one not needing ab's than have anyone go thru that. I don't dose ab's very often so doesn't worry me about needing them and they not working. This is VERY contagious, even tho' I wash constantly, it still spreads. Learned Leo also cannot take meds with fruit flavors - makes him froth at the mouth and throw up so he gets pills too from now on. I even dosed ZiggyBear, our little wild baby, by crushing pill in his food last night and putting it on top....was all gone when he finished. Last thing he needs is to live 'wild' AND be sick.

Now to my subject story. We had extremely bad fog yesterday morning when I had to go to vet for meds (Snow has to have injected ab). There's a traffic light on the 4 lane highway which had traffic backed up about half a mile. A semi came barreling thru not seeing stopped traffic until he was right there. To keep from hitting a whole line of cars, he turned his truck into the back of another semi, his cab literally exploded - Rest in Peace Sir Hero, he gave HIS life to save many others. He did clip another vehicle which hit another but didn't kill either of those. BUT WAIT! That's not the end of the story! There were 3 dogs involved and injured also - 3 strangers (local people) grabbed injured dogs and headed to our vet. I was there when they brought them in, no life threatening injuries but serious. The first man in the door with the larger dog peeled off $500 handing it to the receptionist telling her to 'do whatever needs done', the second couple wrote out a check for $600 saying the same thing. The third couple stepped up and said "let us know any cost remaining, we'll pay it". These people don't know any of the people or animals involved, they just knew there were injured fuzzy feetz that needed treatment too. THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE! What amazing hearts there are out there!!! I talked with my vet tech this morning, all are doing well, large one had badly broken leg which they were able to fix, they all have serious cuts needing lots of stitching but they're all going to make it.

Thoughts and prayers for all needing them today. BIG HUG and YARD DANCES for those others!!

Oh.my.goodness! What a story - what an awful way to die. Prayers for his family, friends and all those at the scene.

How generous of those people to rush the animals to the vet AND offer money!

So sorry to hear of the sickness going through your furbabies. I hope everyone is well soon.

Have a great night -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)
