So instead of seeing numbers go down, I've been seeing Dylan's numbers increase substantially since starting the insulin. I'm a bit confused by this reaction and have called the vet, who will be giving me a call back today.

Pre-shot yesterday evening she tested at 445 (the highest result ever). I gave her the 0.5 dose and tested at +2 and her test was 302.
This morning 12 hours later she tested at 432. Dose of 0.5 administered.

I'm doing a glucose curve when I'm around this weekend but I'm very puzzled by these results. When she was diagnosed over a week ago, she tested at 360 and stayed in the purple range all week. Since insulin began, she's been steadily moving up to the reds.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,
I noticed no one had answered your post. It's hard to say only seeing the preshots, as usually dose amount is determined
by the lows. I don't consider myself an expert, but my advise would be get some mid shots so you know how low he's going. Higher numbers at preshot time can be be the result of low numbers in the middle of the cycle. What food are you feeding? wet or dry and what is the name, brand?

welcome to LL!

I think your curve this weekend will help make things more clear. It does look like Dylan is at least getting into 200s, then bouncing back up. That's not at all uncommon when they first start insulin. Seeing some numbers from the mid-cycle will help us put together some puzzle pieces.

Shelly's questions about food, etc. are important too, so if you can answer those it will also be helpful.

Thanks!

She eats FF classic (Chicken Pate) wet food only. No dry.

Her brother cat Leonard is in remission from a diet change two years ago but looks like this diet didn't work out for Dylan so here I am again. :)

I'm looking forward to doing the curve this weekend to see what's up.
