It's been a stressful 14 or so hours. Last night, right after doing fluids, Trix had some sort of pain flare up. I'm not sure if it was gas pain, or maybe the p-titis flaring a bit (or both), but she was siting very hunched up and obviously uncomfortable with the thought of moving, and she had that far away look in her eyes. (Ironically, right before we did fluids, I had a huge flare of anxiety for some reason....a premonition, I guess.) A little later on, she did burp a couple times, and seemed a bit more comfortable after that, so I was thinking maybe she does have some gas...and, when she has p-tits flares, the do seem to start with a gas build up in her intestines.
Anyway, she did eat well throughout the evening, and she did seem to become more relaxed, but I could tell her energy was just off. This flare happened maybe an hour after her first round of dinner, all of which seemed very normal - waiting by the door, Mannie Fuds Dance, impatient through pokey.
Today, she is eating very well, too, but not with the enthusiasm she had the last week-ish. And she definitely doesn't have the energy she had, either. I supposed the ABs could be starting to bother her now, too...she's been on Zeniquin for 13 days, and amoxicillin for 7. I am putting a probiotic in her fuds, but I'm sure that can only do so much with two ABs going at the same time.
She has peed without issue, and she hasn't vomited, nor does she seem nauseated since she is eating well (of course she does get cerenia on a regular basis anyway). She did poop during the day yesterday, but after the pain event when I went to go check it's "style", someone else had buried it. She hasn't pooped yet today.
Needless to say, this sent my anxiety through the roof. I was really looking forward to a relaxing evening with DH and the kitties, but I couldn't even eat, much less focus on anything other than watching Trix. And I was looking forward to a productive day off, but now I'm just shot. I didn't sleep at all last night. I tried to doze on the couch near here, but since this threw Zen's nighttime routine off, he was picking fights with the other cats pretty much all night long...as soon as I'd doze off, he'd go after someone else. Obviously he was also feeding off my anxiety. It's not much better today, either.
I really, really, really wish there was a way to know what the cause is/was...kidneys? p-tiits? ABs? simple gas?
We also got some wet, heavy snow dumped on us over night....blech.
I guess I'd better try to get something done....have a great day, L&LL
