YESTERDAY'S CONDO:
http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...3-75-138-5-5-85-6-5-82-pmps-161-3-230.131909/

Max woke me meowing loudly about a half hour ago. We had poop which was missing yesterday. I'm hoping that is the reason for his vocal behavior. He ate his baby food very quickly but isn't yet going in for his cat food. I almost forgot his gel cap and he now followed me to his food dish after getting it and will hopefully eat a little to wash it down. He's high this morning and hopefully not the sign of a failed reduction.

Prayers and vines to all in need this weekend.

I'm having the same questions as you about Keiko about being high and if the reduction is the way to go. Prayers and vines to you too.

It's hard to figure out at times. Max sometimes takes a little extra time settling into a dose so maybe the same thing for you? In my case I'm glad I didn't listen to my vet and cut him by over one unit. Prayers to you too.

Don't have an answer on failed reduction time, Elise. Just vines. I can do vines.

Max, how 'bout settling in to this dose, huh? That would make this easier.

It all really depends on if the reduction was given just as a bounce from low numbers started. If Max was bouncing or had a delayed bounce (Tess doesn't always bounce after a low, sometimes she waits a cycle or 2) he could be clearing it now. You are seeing action from the insulin w/ today's slide so the bounce should be clearing. I might give it tonight to see if this dose brings him any further down and if not increase tomorrow.

Carla thanks. He ate. Just not with gusto or as much but he needs to lose weight. I just don't think he feels well. Thank you Ann. It is true that he might be bouncing but a little odd since he hit green yesterday. He might be taking his time settling in or maybe dropped a little lower at some point yesterday.

Don't forget....a lot of times those flat yellow cycles are followed by a major dive down!

Hope Max comes down nicely for you tonight...and not too fast either!

I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I SAW HIGH PINK! Just checked. November 28th.

I think we have a failed reduction????

Could he be bouncing from last night? Or could it be the high before the break though? Also, you are saying Max doesn't feel well? Look at Tiger, BG really dropped after we discovered her UTI. Any chance it could be that or is he peeing and pooping normally? I hope he feels better. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

No chance of UTI. We ran blood and urine last Wednesday. I have to go back and check but I think the last time he hit pink was a failed reduction. I didn't raise him tonight but unless something changes I think I need to take him up tomorrow. Thanks for bringing that up though. I hope Tiger is starting to feel better.

Gee..I cant tell from the ss..but if it were me I would give it at least another cycle. Or, if you go back up and he still not coming down, then it may be something else going on...Paws crossed..Max..what ya doing in that pink tu tu buddy?

Any chance there was a fur shot this morning? If not, I'd call it a failed reduction.

Ick Max! Pink doesn't even look good on girl kitties.

Thanks Laura and Wendy. I don't think he got a fur shot but he might have gotten a little less insulin as I think the bubble was a little bigger than usual.

Elise, that was another thing I was thinking--now that Max's dose is getting smaller, a bigger bubble could definitely be a factor. Is the miralax working for Max yet? constipation can make a kitty not feel well> Also, sending prayers for your mom- I was hoping that AB was working for her! :bighug::bighug:

The miralax worked yesterday but not today so far. His ALT was elevated as well which hasn't happened in the last year either. It wasn't real high but still makes me wonder if something is going on. The small extra difference in insulin shouldn't have made him soar. I'm just not sure what is going on yet. He's sleeping still and by now would usually be wanting to eat.

My mom wasn't feeling well today either. Not the best day all around. Thanks for asking, Ruth.

While I think this could likely be a high before the break, it's unusal for Max. Unless you see green tonight, I'd take his dose back up tomorrow.

If he's not feeling well, that could contribute to the numbers, as you know. I don't know if there is some crazy weather pattern or what but Gracie has looked the worst in a long time since her last reduction. Like Max, she just went to the vet and all labs were good. She tends to always look bad in January but she looks worse this January. I wonder if there is also something that causes Max to look a little worse. Hard to say but even with a failed reduction, I'm surprised to see Max in pink.

I'm so sorry about your mom. I was hoping they found the right a/b for her. Sending prayers.

The last time it happened it was a failed reduction 11/28. I was starting to worry with the elevated ALT that maybe he was going to have a pancreatitis attack from the vet visit but he is eating well tonight so I don't think that is it. Hopefully it isn't a thyroid issue starting either. :nailbiting::arghh:

Hi Elise.

Sorry to see Max has worried you so much today. I hope he gets back to his normal numbers soon. I'm glad to hear he's eating at least.

Sending good poo and safe sliding vines, as well as more prayers and vines for your DM.
