A nice start for Trix today! She does seem to like this dose, but has some mini-bounces like yesterday on it. She did actually make it to the lagoon late in last evening's cycle :mrgreen: !

Today marks 4 weeks since Mario left us :YMSIGH: ...how time flies. There is still a huge hole in my heart, I still miss him terribly, and as I go through the morning and evening routines, it still does not feel "right"...

It's weigh-in day for the civvies, to check their progress. I'm curious to see. I've been weighing them once a week since switching their fuds...as of last week, Petey had regained almost all of the 2lbs he had lost, and Zen remained the same (ie, he had not regained any of the weight he had lost during the "Blue Basics Fiasco") - although Zen had a few days in there where he was "off". I'm pretty sure he put on some weight this week...

It's also absolutely frigid - 19 degrees - and my day off. I will NOT be going outside under any cicrumstances today :lol: !

Morning Amy, brrrr...and good you're staying inside today. I hope Trixie does well on this dose and works the juice. I was wondering how everyone was doing on the new fuds.

It looks like Trixie will be back in the lagoon today. Rusty is happy to see her doing so well.

Mario is surely watching over you and his fur family. He's supervising your routines, perhaps even helping.

Nice, fairly flat day in good numbers today.

Today was weigh-in day for Petey and Zen. Just a brief recap: they both lost a significant amount of weight and began throwing up primarily foamy fluids while eating Blue Basics Turkey and Potato. They have lots of sensitivities and flat out refuse canned fuds. After vetty visits and slightly wonky BW for both, we decided to take a new approach to fuds, and switched them to high fiber/lower protein/simpler ingredient list hair ball foods. They're now on a mix of Science Diet, Purina One, and a little of their old Orijen.

Since making the switch three weeks ago, Petey has regained 1.5lbs of the nearly 2lbs he lost. He now checks in at 9.8lbs, which is just a hair light for him - he's a pipsqueak to begin with. Zen has regained 1.4lbs just in the last week, putting him at 14.2lbs, which is also very close to his normal, healthy weight. No one has barfed at all since making the switch, and DH - the official "Scooper", has reported that the LB is not "ideal", but is definitely better than it was when they were on straight up Orijen. I'm slowly trying to work Orijen out of their diet, since I know that contributes to the LB issue...but I know if I rush it, I may end up with a mutiny.

I have to take Petey back for a recheck of his BW in several weeks, since it was of concern that his calcium was elevated. Zen had a few slightly odd numbers, but at this point, he doesn't need a recheck, unless something noticably changes...

Wow Amy, very impressive report on the civvies and the improvement and their weight gain. You've put a lot of work and energy into it, and it's paid off. Very interesting with the food combination. Very lucky kitties. :-D

Hey!! Nice day for Trixie today!! Know how you feel about Mario's absence, but you know he is still there with you always....Hope your babies get the weight you want! Moonie has lost so much weight, it worries with me, but doesnt seem to bother her!--Hope you have a good evening--Thinking of you!

Hi guys woo hoo for a nice day for Trixie and yay on the weigh in!!! Awesome! Looks like the foods are working well. Paws crossed this great trend continues with all the furbabies! I wouldn't be going out either. Stay warm!

I'm glad the food experiment seems to be helping the civvies. Nice blues for Trixie today. I know it's hard to lose our furbabies, but they will always be with us.

Looks like Miss Trixie had a nice run of blue today. :-D

Any of us, who has suffered the loss of a pet, knows how much you miss Mario. I'm so sorry you hurt, Amy :YMHUG:

Amy, you are doing such a great job with Petey and Zen and I'm so happy they are doing better and gaining back some weight.

I can't believe it has been 4 weeks since your baby, Mario crossed over. I know how heartbroken you were when he left. Sending lots of prayers your way -- praying for peace, healing, and happy memories of your sweet Mario.
