Sending the strongest healing vines and prayers for Angela's Daisy this morning.

Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty had a good night and we are starting the day in low blue. Nonetheless, I started a new pen of Lev. this morning because we had 55 days on the previous cartridge and it was almost empty. He enjoyed his breakfast, his lung treat, and thought about schmoozing, but elected instead to chillax in his favorite wicker armchair. This is something he never does in the morning! I got a new fleece blanket in the mail yesterday (from one of my charities) and I think Rusty was unsettled, maybe because it smelled different (I couldn't detect any smell at all). So I have stuck it into the washing machine. Cats are difficult creatures to try to figure out!!

We are still in the deep freeze (-16 F. this morning), but tomorrow it is supposed to get above zero. This evening we are having another film night with the "Mountain Disaster Film Club". But the 1932 movie--an early talkie--is an ocean disaster: "SOS Iceberg". It's another Leni Riefenstahl movie. We are all looking forward to it. These films have real panache because they were filmed on site, in real time, with real actors doing their own stunt work. I'll be making popcorn again.

NPR had a story on curling this morning. Our LL Sliders Curling Club is in the vanguard!! http://www.npr.org/2014/01/23/264884316/7-facts-and-3-gifs-hellooo-curling

Yo Kitties, I'm captaining the Blue Team for curling practice this morning. Bring your brooms and the stones and let's get out there. Hot tuna toddies and cimmamum cookies after practice.

Hi again,

More vines headed Daisy's way. I hope that the tumor is benign and that she will have a complete recovery.

Rusty may have gone a little lower than he is accustomed to last night. The AMPS 106 may have been part of a bounce. Now, at +9, he seems to be coming back down. At first I suspected that the pen wasn't potent (expiration is Nov. 2014, but it was one of the ones that was in our 'fridge last winter when the 'fridge quit and we were without a 'fridge for 4 weeks, making do with ice chests and a portable). But I think it is probably OK.

We had a drama in our backyard today. A small hawk (a Merlin--Pigeon Hawk) swooped down on one of the little goldfinches on one of the birdfeeders, killed it, and spent the next half hour eating it on the ground, underneath the feeder. Poor little bird! The chickadees sat in the mountain pine shrub and made a racket. Rusty was in the other room and didn't see what happened. Oh well, he's a rodent man, as we all know!

bbl, after the film showing (which will begin at 8:30 Eastern time).

I'm glad Rusty is on the way back down for you, still a pretty blue :-D Blech on the poor little birdie. I love nature shows, but I have trouble with the animal eating animal parts...yep, I know they happen, but I don't want to watch :? I hope your movie goes well tonight and you enjoy it! :-D

Nicely done, Skip Rusty! Zener is glad to join you today. :-D :-D We listened to the curling piece on NPR - thanks! :-D :-D I hope we get to try it some day. Doesn't the disaster film make you anxious?
