Good morning!

Everything covered in ice here this morning. What a mess but pretty. Good day for snuggling!

All pink and red last nigh, as I suspected with the reduction…..
Hi Deb, stay warm and snuggle. A great plan for a Monday :)
I hope you all got some good sleep last night since by +3 you could see he was high and flat. Take advantage of those nights to catch up on your sleep!! :bighug::bighug:

Not sure what’s going on but he is at 93. I gave 4% 50 mins ago, I just gave tsp of 12%. Don’t want another reduction…
I didn’t expect this at all after the reduction. Any idea what caused it?

The lower numbers today could still be the result of the action of the 2.25 unit depot. It can influence 4-6 cycles after a reduction. The other thing that could be happening is that it looks like a bounce breaking cycle, which often has a little extra downward motion.

The good thing is - look how quickly Tiger is breaking those bounces now. He broke this one on the 4th cycle. :D Go Tiger!

Oh that’s good! I had no idea. Thank you for explaining! I just don’t want another reduction so I hope I handled it correctly.

Next test will tell you if you managed to put the brakes on. Normally I'd stick with just LC, though you could use higher LC (8-9%).

Just tested and he’s at 125. I need to get some 8-9%. I had 4 or 12% and the I used the 4% an hour ago and it had no effect so went with the 12%. I’ll keep watch to see if it’s leveled out or dives again. Tysm Wendy for quick reply! Have a great day!

Depending on how carb sensitive Tiger is (and that's up to you to find out), you may have to play with the carb%. In this case a 8-9% might have been good. Ideally you'd like to keep him surfing, or cruising around those upper green numbers. They are healing numbers. You may also find that later in the cycle close to nadir, that he needs less carbs than earlier in the cycle. Just keep on keeping good notes on what you fed when and you'll start to gather that data.

Hi Deb, if you don’t have 8% in the house you can always mix equal parts of 4% and 12% and magically it becomes 8% (I learned that on the forum)
:)

I know the reductions are frustrating, I had two this last week.

Easier said than done, but... when ignoring the reds and looking at Tiger's chart, the blues are coming on more and more, and not to mention the greens we are starting to see.

It might be slow, but I'm seeing some progress! Keep up the good work, Deb! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sorry to pester, but have you done a ketone test with blood meter lately?

Thanks for the encouragement Jason! It helps a lot.
I know overall he’s improving but those darned reds I hate. I know a big part of it is food. I’m tearing my hair out with feeding. Between his being picky lately and not being able to let his stomach get empty is crazy. I’ve managed to sneak in more LC lately but a lot of the time he flat walks away. Grrr….
I don’t understand the higher numbers at night either. He eats less then…
We haven’t used the meter yet, mainly because we been going to the vet to change the libre so much lately and we have it tested while there. They don’t charge for it with the libre change.

your baby will be right back on track having you as her dad! After all you didn’t have your ordinary week last week either!
Have a great night!
