Can you either link her spreadsheet or give us an idea of when those tests occurred? I'm assuming that they are amps and perhaps a +6?

Part of the reason she's all over the place is because your moving her dose around too much. Lantus likes consistency. In the last couple days you've shot 2.25, 2,1.75,&then completely skipped on a blue preshot that would have been safe to shoot.

You can't do that with Lantus or not get some wonky numbers. You need to pick a dose and hold it for at least 3-5 days. And for a long term diabetic they don't earn a dose reduction unless they have a reading below 40..You also have enough data on her to shoot low to stay low.

Now if she was one of mine and I was looking at the numbers you're getting this would be my game plan..

Set my no shoot number at 75 (she doesn't dive much)

Set the dose at 2.25 and hold for a couple of weeks as she looks like she might take longer to settle.

Just my two cents worth

Have to agree with Mel. Pick a dose and stick with it a few days. Some cats can take a week or longer to settle.

Doses of Lantus and Levemir should be held at least 6 cycles if not 10 (3-5 days). Changing her dose often can be confusing to her body, biologically, she can't settle into her dose. You have to imagine how uncomfortable that is for her. Probably makes her feel awful. We want all our kitties happy and healthy, you have to have patience with her dose. Give her a chance to stabilize.

Sorry to hear about your wrist, I feel for you. Many of us have medical issues that make it hard to care for our babies. Hang in there. :YMHUG:

Thanks for all the input but....
First, when I was with the other diabetes board, they made me adjust her dose depending on the pre-shoot number every time. So, sometimes using what I was taught there. I was taught to never shoot if she is under 150 by the other board. I couldn't have known that you guys don't agree with what I was taught.

Second, when she had Pancreatitis a few days ago, I thought I should shoot low just in case because she really wasn't eating much while recovering.

Third, I'm trying to find her best dose as her numbers are down regulating since her bladder infection seems to be improving finally.

I'm trying to find her best dose but she is in a downward trend so I will be adjusting it slowly.

Thanks
