All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Yes, all is well, even during the outbreak of WWIII today. :lol: :lol: It was fur mat removal day :shock: , much to the dismay of the nanner king :o . We did OK until we got to the rear end. Then my mild mannered ok comb away if you must kitty turned into this howling hissing clawing don't you dare comb my butt kitty. :roll: Overall score? Bean 4, Mannie 2, fur mats 0, claws 159, ow..... We finally thawed out enough that the kits could venture out on the deck. Elsa took off into the unknown, as she always does. Mannie was funny. He only went so far, looked at everything, surveyed the back yard, and then as if to say "yep, it's all here", he turned around and went back inside to nap. :shock: :lol: :lol: We had a great test feed shoot this morning: lots of purrs and head rubs from Mannie. Breffis was consumed with gusto - still and always at warp speed, clean plate club status maintained, the auto feeder continues to be used, Elsa still tries to raid his auto feeder, I still intercept. Normalcy in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone! I hope to do nothing today. :lol: :lol: Maybe a good book, for sure a walk... other than that? hmmmmm..... maybe nothing. :-D

Oooooohhhhhh Mannie! So glad to here the backyard is all there! It is so scarey when you can't find it at all and the snow hides everything!

Attie hates grooming. And with his big ole claws we had to do something! I find the hood keeps him much calmer for dealing with the mats. I have also found that some of the pet wipes with coat conditioners seem to keep his fur from matting up too! (hint) They won't untangle existing ones, but about every two weeks or so we do a nice wipe down. I think the winter dry air coupled with the natural oils/dirt cause him troubles in the winter thick Maine Coon type coat. I have also used a foam in cat bath with coat conditioners too on a washcloth too seems to work!

Hi Beth - love that! I may have to give it a shot. Anything to help wit the stress level of grooming. Poor Mannie, before DX he used to love to be combed. Oh wow on the pet wipes with conditioners. That's a new one for me. I will look for those for sure. And thx - might be time for a dose adjustment.

I hope Mannie reads his condo or there may be more juice in there for ya! Oh poor Mannie with the fur removal. He does have a beautiful coat! So your snow is all gone or at least now you can get out among the living! I haven't watched the weather channel yet. Have a nice walk today, Michelle.

It's time Mannie. The bean's not joking around. We need to see those pretty blue greens.

I guess when it's cold outside it doesn't take as long to determine all is well in the yard as it does on a nice warm sunny day. Smart kitty. :lol:

Hi Ann - yep, snow is almost all gone.We still have a few remnants here and there, but the roads are clear, so we are once again off and running. :-D and yes on Mannie and the fur removal - he was not happy. :lol: :lol: I may have to try Beth's method.

Hi Linda - so agreed. need some blues and greens here Mannie... seriously! And yes on the yard thing. It made me laugh - no dummie there. :lol:

I know when Attie first came to the shelter his skin would tear at the slightest touch. I think the skin sensativity is an affect of the diabetes.

Diabetics often have to take extra care in regards to their skin. This is for humans, but it is why I think Attie and Mannie may dislike being groomed to a certain extent: http://www.diabetes.org/living-with-diabetes/complications/skin-care.html

Good luck an the grooming, that has never been aproblem for tess except for her tummy. That is a no go zone. :roll: :lol: :lol: But she actually has more fur there than before dx, you used to be able to see the pink skin right through her fur. ECID!

Hi Ann - well, he was... back up we go. yep on the grooming... aiyee! :lol: we keep at it, a little at a time. He does like the zoom groom though, so much better than a comb.

Oh Mannie..did you hear that? And you aren't encouraging your bean to do anything different by just nipping blue today!!

YAY...usually it's Mannie 4 Bean 2. Bet he's mad at you today!! But perhaps you can be the hero if you pick up all his nanners when he's asleep and then when he wakes up, you bring them to him like "SOMEONE took your nanners but your bean who loves you found them".

YAY...more curling!!! How much fun is that!!!!

Oh no Mannie! More juice is on the way unless you put on your greens for mama bean. I hear you on the fur mats. I gave up. We just use scissors or DH's moustache trimmer when T's get bad. He hates to be brushed anywhere but his back.

346 @ PMPS. ohmygod_smile well - we are due to change a pen. I think I will do that tomorrow night, when I can be around to check Mannie, just to see if this pen has lost its get up and go before I up his dose.
