Simon ended up with 4 tooth extractions! We had no idea his teeth were this bad (nor did the vet until he got him under anesthesia) so this could have been one of the reasons for higher BG readings. He did very well and is back to his old self this morning (with some pain killer..lol) and his AMBG was 89,lowest we have seen in a while for his AMBG reading without food in his belly. Poor little guy. 4 TEETH!

He never showed any discomfort chewing, even hard food like freeze dried chicken. We had no idea until I smelled his breath and knew his gums needed attention.

Anyway, he should be good now vet said and he also seems to feel well. Only thing I am worried about is the 10 days or anti biotics and 5 days of anti-inflammatory that might mess with his BG. Hoping it won't be a set back though.

Have a great day!

Poor Simon! But what a lovely amps, Joyce. Maybe things will be wonky for a few days, but I bet he will settle in and be fine.

Your experience with how a dental helps bg levels will be a great experience to share when someone asks if dentals make a difference.......
