New Lab Tests today - it's also vaccination time but I deferred the date, just in case!

The vet prescribed a medicine called AMYLACTIV DIGEST, to take for a month so that mis amylase numbers go down faster. Will it interfere with his BG? (Vet couldn't answer this question).

It consists of 10,120 U lipase, 8,420 U amylase, 620 U protease & 22.5 mg insulin.

I see that it includes pig pancreas extract. Has Rico been diagnosed with EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency)? There is a blood test for it. Pancreas enzymes should not be given to a cat unless they have been diagnosed with EPI. It can make the pancreas worse if not needed.

No, the vet didn't say anything like this but I can call him and ask him tomorrow morning. He just said he wanted to lower his amylase. I will let you know as soon as I get in touch with him. Thank you for the information!
