So, I'm testing her with ear pokies at least twice a day, AM & PM, those have been green range for the most part. Last night, during her PM cycle she spiked 3 times. Those 3 times coincide with when she got up to eat. She spiked higher than she has this whole time. For the first time I saw above 150 (on the libre). Is that normal? I know that if I wasn't using the Libre, I wouldn't even be catching these spikes and she would appear to be in the 70s and 80s. Maybe it could have to do with the type of food I left out for her. I had been strictly feeding the Gravy Lovers Pate in chicken, beef and salmon. I started running low on those so I brought back out the flaked chicken and tuna and have given that a few times. They both loved that before I found the pate they like too. Both varieties are low carb but the flaked has a bit more that she has to "chew," I guess, and the pate doesn't.
I am so afraid of failing her and having to put her back on insulin, maybe I'm freaking out.
I know many of you I have seen many cats go into remission so my question is, have any of them used the Libre and had continuous numbers, high and low? Have any gone over the bg threshold of 120 once or twice? Have you seen any fail during a trial period?
I know her little pancreas is working because she's able to bring all those numbers down and sometimes even into the 60, just as she did on the insulin. But maybe it's not working well enough...?
And, of course, today marks her day 4. As I have learned, she usually figures out what she gonna do on day 4 of whatever change we have made as far as increase or reductions.
