Hi all, so I have no BG's because my mom still has Simon and I'm finishing up a ski trip! It's been fun, but I'm eager to get back to collecting some data and getting my kitty better! I return after his p.m. shot tomorrow, Sunday, so Monday morning we will be back "in the salt mines."

Thoughts on the following options:
1) keep his dose at .5 on the day I return and run a curve, decide what to do after I have those tests.
2) raise him to .75 and run the curve.

Does anyone think, after looking at his SS, that he had too high of a dose when he was on 1 u? Or was he just in need of holding that 1.0 u dose for awhile longer? There has been lots of talk about how steep his drops are and how he bounces afterwards. I heard or read that the steep falls can be a sign of too much insulin.

I hope you're enjoying your trip.

Without knowing how Simon was doing on the reduced dose, it's hard to make any suggestions. When I've been traveling and have deduced Gabby's dose, I generally bring it back up to where it was previously. I think you're going to have to see how Simon's been doing on the reduced dose.

In that case, I think i'll at least do the .75.
I'm still confused on how to read the difference between too much juice and not enough.
Simon's behavior, etc, have been fine. I will ask about volume of urine in the box, though.

With too much insulin, you would get some low numbers and then a bounce. Often, when a cat's been started at too high of a dose, there are unshootable pre-shots. With not enough insulin, you see primarily high numbers.
