IT'S FRIDAY LL!!!! We send our daily healing vines to Rocket and support to Claudia and comfort vines to Nicole and her family for the tough days ahead.

WCR: 4Ps in place. Despite her numbers last night, Gracie and Tobey were little wild children playing....I thought her BG might be dropping but no such luck. I started her new feeding plan this morning to try and control the drops (when we get through the bounce); she ate like a trooper: .85 oz AMPS, .42 oz +1, .21 oz +2 and +3. We're going to keep this feeding plan going for some time to see what happens...Mike and I are both hopeful and optimistic. Beth asked me last night (after I'd gone ni ni) on our condo about Gracie's food spikes. This is another area of unpredictabiliy in our girl. I keep track of what we feed and when/how she spikes and there is no rhyme/reason. Sometimes she gets a food spike, other times she doesn't. It appears to be tied more into whether she's going to dive or not. We feed Wellness 4% or 6% and I don't see a correlation yet.

This morning AZ Rep Gabby Giffords left Tucson for rehab in Houston. After Gracie's PS/shot routine, my DBFF and I went to stand on the route to wave goodbye to Gabby and show our support. I couldn't stop crying for the miracles that she has experienced to date and for the hopes and prayers of so many that she will fully recover. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I ran back home to check Gracie and because she is giving me permission, I plan to make the most of my day. I have some shopping to do, going to get a mani/pedi, and am going to play golf with my coach. I'm running late so will have to visit condos later but have a lovely day!!! Be green all you kitties!!

Ahhhhh, another one given permission by their furbaby to travel and have fun today. At least Gracie's pink is lower than Mannie's. I heard Mannie up very early this morning - something about needing to prep a fresh batch of peppermint niptinis for him and Gracie. seems he feels that the peppermint ones work best on high bg's.

Good luck with your food plan. It will watch this one. somedays Mannie has food spikes too, other days not, and I too see no real correlation between foods. I finally stopped trying to figure it out, and just went with the usual LC's that he eats. I hope you have success - be sure and let us know!

Good news to on Gabby heading to houston for rehab. I heard that on the news this AM. what a fighter she is. I have no doubt that she is on the road to recovery.

Thanks Ann, Celi, and Michelle: yes, Gabby is strong and everyone has the highest hopes for her. As for Miss Gracie...looks like she decided to break through her bounce so I am predicting a possible pj party at our house tonight. I'm wondering if Mannie came over and shared some peppermint niptinis????

It's already almost 8:30 pm and I haven't had dinner yet....got shopping done for Mike's birthday; played five holes of golf with my coach; unfortunately, they were running way behind at the nail salon so I had to rush home, do Gracie's routine, feed all, and then give the elderly civvies their squids. Gosh...I'm exhausted already!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Will try and check in on some condos after dinner and when I see how my girl is going to call the shots tonight!

I wanna know if your measurements tonight are this exact! I sorta divide up a can and give each cat some at mini-meal times.

Hi, Marjorie & Gracie.. you do an amazing job with your food calculations, etc.
I wish I were that good.. I just put food on the plate & feed :lol: (mini meals of course) but no way I figure out the % & ounces, Gracie has a good mommy & daddy ;-)

So glad Gracie gave you travel friendly numbers today... hopefully you'll have great numbers tonight... AND get some sleep!

Was thinking of you this morning on the way to work as NPR was reporting on the Congresswoman's transfer to the rehab facility in Houston. Her progress has truly been amazing! So glad you got the opportunity to be part of that! Continued prayers for ongoing progress in her recovery!


Are you using a food scale to get your measurements? I just got one and it is addictive! I've been measuring everything!!

Sienne, Nicole, and Christie: I've always weighed Gracie's food because if I don't figure out her calories and weigh out her food, she would be a blimp. The girl lives to eat so I can't just plop food on her plate like I can the others....she'll eat as long as you give her food :lol: :lol:
I have a digital pocket scale and it's quick and easy to weigh out her food.

So yes, she got .85 oz at PMPS and since I knew she'd probably start diving, I gave her .22 oz at +.5 and .22 oz at +1; she'll get the same amounts at +2 and +3. Also, her dive from 161 to 118 got her a drop of karo. I am hoping that eventually the new food regime will kick in and she'll have less of a dive.

Now...back to my dinner! :lol:

Hi Marjorie and Gracie. You do great with the food and Gracie. Nice numbers coming after the PMPS. I hope you will be able to relax over the weekend.

seriously? a 44??? Gracie - no more niptinis for you! Now be good, hop on your board, and surf well so you bean can get some sleep.
 
Seriously!!! But she came right back up so that's good. Not feeding the +4...time to surf baby girl!

Time for me to nap, test, nap, test. So good night all..sleep tight.
