Thank you everybody for your advice yesterday re: my question of timing. I was selfishly waiting a few hours after his breakfast before giving Elian his first shot of the day and then waiting until 10:30 pm for the second. His BG readings were always high. I had Elian and his brothers wait for breakfast this morning and did everything in the correct order - amps; breakfast; shot and WOO HOO!!!!! An amps of 272 and a +4 of 188 - our lowest yet! Hopefully it'll only get better from here and I will finally have him regulated. Fingers crossed.

Hi Susie and Elian! Don't think I've said WELCOME yet!

I AGREE - WOO HOO!!!! 188!!!!! BIG Yard Dance!!!!!!!!!!!! AND eating Civie too! You hit the jackpot today didn't you!!!

btw, I'm that wierd dancing top-hatted mouse that goes by Ld Squeaky on facebook....

BIG HUG!

Thanks so much - I'll look for you on FB! All four of my boys are eating Fancy Feast wet only but will probably also try Wellness per another poster's advice. But first we have to get thru the 13 cases of FF I purchased this week since it was on sale! Of course that won't take long with four large boys! But my timing was all off and it looks like if I get it right then things should start looking up - hopefully.

Oops...that was Debbie's civie that was having eating issues.... Sorry, gray hairs growing into brain....

fb - I'm one of your LantusLand comments to your 'sad for losing kitties' post. I just lost one of MY fuzzyfeetz Saturday, one of the rainbows you saw but wasn't my diabetic one. He had bad heart problems but was one of KT's 'brothers' which affects all the family. Please don't let those overwhelm you.

Good news! Happy dance for great numbers!
I have three cats (one sugar kitty and two civies) and I've been feeding them Wellness for the last two months with great results. I'm getting really good numbers for the most part, and it looks like my overweight civie cat is losing weight. You can find it cheaper on Amazon than any other place, and they take 5% off the cost if you go with their automatic shipments.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost our only girl - Jenny - one year ago. Still don't know what was wrong but it's interesting - after reading a post about a kitty who's BG was extremely low, not eating or drinking, legs gave out and couldn't stand - sounds so much like my Jenny at the end. Yet diabetes was never mentioned - the vet thought she had some sort of treatable infection. I brought her home with an iv drip to give her but never even used it before she died in my arms. So glad she saved me from making "the decision". I kept telling her it was okay to go.....and she did.

Told you you'd get the hang of it Susie. You just had to give it time. And the people here are the best! There is not a situation you can come across that at least someone doesn't have experience with.

E is looking good!!!!!! (Like I knew that he would now) :) :thumbup
