How did the vet visit go today? Hope everything went well!
Edited to Add: Saw your update in yesterday's post about the vet visit. I'm wondering if getting the dental done would help with the bg control. Jersey, thankfully, didn't have any dental issues, but I continually read here how often dental issues can contribute to higher numbers. It seems like a lot of vets don't want to perform dentals with bg's that are unregulated, but the bg's often don't become regulated until the dentals are done. Such a catch-22 situation. Sigh.

Yes, I'm not sure why my vet wasn't hesitant to give Mikey a dental. Mikey had to have teeth pulled and was in a bit of distress, but I never heard him say that it was not safe. Now with Doodle 2 vets are telling me they hesitate to do it. Doodle is only about 6 so he has an awful long time ahead of him for those teeth to get even worse and then even more dangerous with age or whatever other complications might arise. This new vet also said that Doodle had a heart murmur- something I had not heard before either. Should get blood work back tomorrow and will know better what vet wants to do

i saw your update from yesterday too and was thinking the same thing. Often cats with bad dental issues - and didn't you say 4/5 or something like that? Often those cats seem to not be willing to get regulated until their dental issue has been addressed.
if your regular vet won't do it, you might consider a veterinary dentist. I took punkin to one after his acromegaly was further along. His first dental was with the regular dentist, but a year later i opted for the specialist because i thought he was more fragile. If you want to look up one, take a look here at "Where Can I Find?", scroll to the "interesting posts" at the bottom, then look for "dental."
