OT: Drooler ?: Anybody know what kinds of antibiotics I can give Smokey (drooler) & how much? He weighs about 75 pounds. His hurt foot is better but looking like he might need some ABs. I am googling this but everything says "go to vet, ask your vet." I thought maybe somebody here might just know, I have a lot of Clavamox, the 125mgs & the 62.5's both.

I know it's a cat board, sorry to ask...

Good idea, doing that too, have enough 125mg Clav's for 5 days, he'd have to have 4 tabs BID (~75 lbs), found a bottle of Cephalexin from 7/2009 upstairs vet had prescribed for collie Scarlett (GA), am looking on the site Celi recommended for info on that too. That site gave me the info on the Clav I needed...

FYI: Incidentally that site also says that the Clav 125's are for use in dogs only, that the 62.5's are for cats and dogs (all ohers for dogs only). Tawny got some 125s BID for 3 days when she was sick, I remember the vet saying "that's a lot of Clav for her, let's reduce it to the 62.5's." This the vet that put her on the 125s. Then I gave Bob-cat the 125's for 2 or 3 days when I was doctoring up his wounded face a few wks ago, then dropped him to the 62.5's. Figured since Tawny had gotten it was OK for Bob-cat, guess I won't do that anymore.
