A windy Sunday, no sun :-| The weather's gonna warmer next week which is better as all household is busy preparing for the Chinese New Year which will arrive in less than a month. The streets are so crowded with people trying to buy things to prepare. During the week of the New Year, people need to go to threir elder generation's home to pay respect. There will be a lot of family gathering dinners around. Kids are most happy during this period because the elders, grannys, uncles, aunt's will give them special red pocket money :lol:

Do people do anything special for the year of the snake? We have big Chinese New Year's parades here.

Chinese people loves to have babies in the Year of the Dragon (which is this year). The Year of the Snake will start on the 10th of Feb according to the Chinese calender. Hope you enjoy the parade!

HI Helen, What a beautiful day for Miss Rosy! New Years' Celebrations sound like great fun. It's so nice to take the time to honor our elders. I'll be looking forward to hearing more about your plans. and, i'm with John, "What's red pocket money?"

Very nice day for Rosy, back to blues again!

Red pocket money is gifts of money given to the young people, and it comes in a red envelope for good luck. We have a large Chinese population here, and I had friends who were sad when they become old enough they were considered too old for red pocket money. :lol:
