Yesterday. An easy-peasy kind of day.

Yesterday's recap:
APMS 123
+3 102
+5 82
+7 96
PMPS 115
+5 100
+6 98 (Not sure why her +5/+6 were higher than normal last night ~ perhaps sneaked some dog kibble?? :? )

Good morning, LL!! I'm typing, Ripley's slurping up her tuna-flakes-laced breffis, civvie cat and dog are begging for her tuna-flakes-laced breffis, and the heater is ON. Baby, it's cold outside. Hope it warms up a little later on so Ripples can get her sun-time (she's always much happier when she can get in some basking time).

I'm a little surprised with her higher-than-usual nadir last night (DH tested her ~ he was surprised enough by Ripley's +5 that he tested her again at +6. Thanks, love!) and her AMPS this morning (tho it's still a darn good number). After her shot this morning I smelled that dreaded band-aid scent; hopefully it was just from the extra liquid on the base of the syringe from squeezing out the excess. I felt confident that the needle went in (& not out the other side). Only time (& numbers) will tell... ;-)

Yesterday was a sad day in LL ~ good-byes to kitties, sick kitties, scared newbies, worried beans... I'm sending vines to you all. :YMHUG:

Re: 1/20 Ripley AMPS 147

Hi guys,

You have to expect these small fluctuations in bgs. Ripley is a cat, after all! Rusty is very happy that she comes to the lagoon so often and wants to see her there later today.

Enjoy a lovely day. Hope it wasn't a fur shot. After twisting out the excess insulin, try just touching the base of the syringe (where the needle meets the body of the syringe) with the edge of a paper towel. This will sip up any spills. If you tear a piece of the towel and apply the torn edge it works even better.

Re: 1/20 Ripley AMPS 147

Hi, Ella! Thanks for the tip about the paper towel ~ I usually just flick off the extra, but a paper towel will help to ensure full removal. :-D
And I do find myself feeling surprised at unexpected/wavering numbers; maybe she senses when I'm confident about her predictable numbers, and throws in a few silly ones just to keep me on my toes. ;-)
I'm sure Ripley will meet up with your LagoonMeister later today... see you there! (Of course now that I've said that, Ripley's probably chewing up the manual... )

These kitties do like to keep their beans on their toes...it's their JOB! Ripley is looking fabulous!!

Re: 1/20 Ripley AMPS 147

Hi guys! The numbers are still looking really good. So funny that when you get used to certain numbers if they are higher we panic. Like Ella said Ripley is a cat lol. What a great DH you have retesting to make sure it was right! HOpe you have a happy Sunday and stay warm!!!!

Thanks, Michelle for stopping by! So far so good, and definitely staying warm.

Just met some girlfriends for brunch and came home to a nice, green number  .

The sun is out, and although it's a little chilly I'm thinking of dragging Ripley away from her rocking-chair-by-the-heater and plopping her out back to catch some rays.

Another relaxing day for this Sugarkitty and her family! :-D

It's so nice when we can go out and socialize around Ripley's dosing schedule rather than having to cancel or delay plans  . Celebrated a friend's 40th & engagement, now ready to watch a movie in my pjs and get a test or two before falling asleep.

Re: 1/20 Ripley PMPS 127, +4 86

Aw, shucks, Marje, thanks! I'm blushing with pride for my sweetie girl. I couldn't be happier with how she has responded to the diet change and insulin.

She's such a trooper, too. It's only been 2 1/2 mos. or so since her diagnosis, and she now leans into me and sort of purrs when I test her.
I noticed lately that she's filled out a bit, too. No longer skin and bones.

I am thankful every day for LL!
