Mondays are weigh Minner days. She has inched up over past month from 15 to 15.6 (last Monday). I decided I didn’t want to know today so she got a skip. Insulin regulated kitty seems to be porker bound kitty. My husband says she’s “going from a chublet to a full blown porker”. Since the more frequent feeding seems to be key part of managing the curve and not letting her get too low, I’ve tried spreading it out vs the main meal heaviness from her all yellow history. Will weigh next week and if still going up, will need to think thru dose tweak again to possibly allow food reduction.

Second nadir in the cycle (as per Bell's thread) is what we call a Lantus second dip. They go down in another mini cycle, but not as low as the nadir in the main part of the cycle. Happens in non IAA kitties too.

Weight control is important. Taking out of the main meals what you think you'll need for snacks is a good idea.

Hi Laura, beautiful cycles for Minner! :)
I portion out a certain amount from Ivy’s main meal and feed that as her snacks, so I’m not adding on to her calories for the cycle.
Sometimes if a cycle is particularly active, and I need to use a little bit of a medium carb that I haven’t accounted for, I just try to give a teaspoon at a time so it’s not like I’m giving a third of a can or anything like that.

Have a safe surf and stay warm today :cat::bighug::cat:

Thank you Staci. I’m not good with using partial cans. I open a can and put it in a bowl. I’ve tried refrigerating opened cans and then trying to warm it and it’s just a pain. Is there an easier way? I waste a lot of food. Sigh.

There’s also Minner’s issue with texture. She never finishes anything so if a whole can is in bowl and she eats half that is really good. If I only put a tsp in a bowl she can’t seem to get it all. I’m going to keep trying. 6 months ago I said I’d never be able to get her to eat wet food at all other than a couple of licks. And here we are …. :)
