@-) ooops sorry....I couldn't see when I uploaded that they were there and then it duplicated on me when copying...and while I tried to remove...well it was late and that's my excuse and I 'm sticking to it!

Gorgeous boys! Herbie and Nemo - purrfect! I too will hop Nemo comes out from behind the toilet. ;-) No toilet boy for him. He will in time. Just keep talking to him, he will learn you're OK. Sometimes it just takes a long time... two I adopted a while back took close to a month to blend in with Mannie and the troops. In time, they ruled everyone!

Too funny on the three rounds of photos.... been there done that too. I too just left them as they were. more to look at then! :-D

It's so sweet that they are so cuddled up together behind the toilet, though! No doubt they will settle in and feel at home very soon!

Indeed! They are tearing the bathroom apart! What there is in there! Last night, there was major play happening in there, thumping and scratching at the door and meowy noises and all kinds of things and the bathroom is a mess! Buster and I looked at each other and the door and went back to sleep. Well I did, Buster kept watch on the door (from the comfort of the bed of course)! ;-)

This morning, just heard a crash and needed to see what happened Nemo was on the sink and knocked over my mirror... lol

Hi Nemo, Hi Herbie! You are very lucky kitties. You can come out from behind the toilet now!

Hillary, they are so cute. I hope they get over their fear soon. They are very young, so it shouldn't take long. Maybe they don't like being stuck in the bathroom!

Have a fine day,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella - I wish it were that. The bathroom must seem huge compared to the cages they were in. No, I think it's cage fear and Nemo not being handled enough and not used to people and such a new environment. Herbie is seeking out attention and pets and isn't as afraid as Nemo (aka Loo Boy).... ;-)

Me being a cat rescuer and all..

It's a wonder how FOOD really tames the beast.. [hint hint] ;-)

One or two very small, yummy treats, (not a plate of food left in the room for them), given to them by hand, by you, throughout the day, can almost instantly make you a kitty magnet!

And then of course leave them their breakfast and dinner too, at those meal times. :-D

What sweeties! and the names are perfect! Izzy is still hiding after a week, comes out to see us but heads right back under the table when we leave. It just takes time.

I love those names :-D They are very lucky kitties and so adorable :-D Hope Nemo discovers quickly that you are a source of love, food, and fun!
When I click on the link for the photos, it tells me the page cannot be displayed

Not sure why it isn't working - try this:

Thanks for the hint Tina - he won't eat the temptation treats, he did eat wet food from my hand the other day and then someone else said NOT to do that. So, I'm getting conflicting information and need to do something to get Nemo out of the corner. Otherwise, he will end up living there his whole life and that's no good.

I thought about leaving the door open, but that may just be too scary and too much right now. Or bringing Herbie out, since he seems more social and separating them, but I'm concerned that it could break the bond they formed.

I will try the hand feeding and see if I can make him want me that way.

I would for now hand feed them both treats, and feed them their meals in their bowls. I would also keep BOTH of them in the bathroom together, with maybe one toy or two that makes a rattle noise, like a small ball. Check in on them as frequently as you can and approach them slowly with one of your hands out for them to smell.

Blink every once in awhile while you are talking to them and making eye contact. That's what they do to us humans to let us know that they are starting to trust us. It will make them feel better rather than a constant gaze or a stare.

Then, if you had the time, you could sit in the room with them while they ate their dinner and talk to them both.

They'll come around. You are doing the absolutely right thing in putting them in a small space when introducing them to their new home. So many people don't do that and they cats get really freaked out and go hide under the bed or in a closet. We recommend about 2 weeks of this, unless they come around sooner.

Thanks Tina - Here's the weird thing. I have opened 4 different flavors and types of treats - temptations hard and whiskas soft and they have absolutely NO interest in any of it. Hand feeding treats won't work...

They do like they kitten wet food, so I will hand feed Nemo (Loo Boy) at least one meal a day in my lap to get him used to me and yummy things and wanting to come out.

I'd like to somehow block off access to back of toilet, but not sure if that will traumatize or not, it also won't give them any place to hide. Not sure if that's a good idea or not.

I am constantly talking or singing silly songs while in there with them and giving lots of slow blinky eyes. Nemo is always giving me slow blinky eye, so I know he wants to trust.
