Good Morning, Everyone,
The snow we have been wanting is now arriving. Poor Linda has to drive home in it. The really bad--lake effect--snow should not be a problem for her, so we are hoping that she is having a safe trip with not too many problems with the roads. She left at about 8:30 this morning and is probably across the border by now (3 hours later).
We enjoyed her visit so much. Rusty was in heaven, getting all that extra attention and having someone to play with who is really good at playing with cat toys. Linda brought him a wand set with 5 attachments (feathers; streamers; etc.) and a fantastic "Crinklesack" with a bird sound when the kitty pounces on it, or in it. The combination of the two was irresistible and Rusty and Linda played vigorously throughout the weekend.
The beans' New Year's Eve party was a success. We had 20 people here and went through about 7 bottles of champagne (in addition to various beers and wines). The food was proclaimed "excellent". And the midnight fireworks (we walked several blocks down the road to view them from across the lake) were particularly beautiful because there was lots of fog and mist and the muted colors of the fireworks seemed to come out of nowhere. Before the midnight supper we watched the DVD of a 1980 performance in Munich of Die Fledermaus (a New Year's Eve tradition). After the supper and the fireworks we partied on until about 2 A.M. Edward and Linda and I then did the dishes and didn't turn in until after 3:30. AMPS, of course, was at 6:15 A.M.!! But I went back to sleep.
Yesterday (New Year's Day) we had sunshine for some of the time and we took Linda to Lake Placid Village (lots and lots of tourists) to walk around Mirror Lake and see the High Peaks in the distance.
We want to take this opportunity to wish all beans and kitties a Happy, Healthy New Year. We look back on the many splendid kitties who crossed to the Bridge this year and are thankful that they had good lives with the wonderful people on this board. They were, each in their own way, very lucky kitties, and, of course, very special kitties.
Thoughts and prayers for those who are not feeling well,
Ella & Rusty
Hi Kitties: Thanks for coming to my barn party. We had so much fun. Happy New Year,
Rusty
