GA 1/2 OT: Frankie earned his wings

Update... just got off phone with Lizzie and the vet called with Frankies bw, they are wanting to do a bone marrow biopsy and it’s scheduled for Monday at 9 am, I’ve attached his bw, please continue to send prayers for Lizzie and Frankie.

Lizzie just let me know that she had to help Frankie transition today to a GA. His hematocrit continued to drop, he couldn’t breathe and was gasping for air through his mouth. He was getting progressively worse and the vets felt he would not make it to Monday to have the bone marrow procedure and, if he did, he would likely not make it through.

Please join me in sending condolences to ((((Lizzie, Ruben, and little Daisy)))). Lizzie and Ruben saved this little guy and she is devastated. Frankie was found by the road in a ditch during a storm when he was just a baby in 2019. Lizzie and Ruben have given him so much love during his issues with behavior and also his hip issues.

Lizzie my heart aches for you, Reuben and Miss Daisy, you have that little boy the best life you could and went above and beyond, his life was taken to soon but I will always remember all the laughs u had about what he was doing or getting into on the phone with me, we are all here for you. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. You gave everything you could to help and give him a great home and family.

Oh Lizzie, I've been away and just checked in. I am so very sorry for your loss. This is so sad, Frankie was a sweetheart and so young. I have no words, just tears. My prayers, thoughts, love and tears are with you.
 
You did everything you could to help. When our beloveds are called to go home, they just go. I know you will miss your little friend so much. Sending love and hugs to both of you. He will always be with you -- around you and in your heart. :bighug::rb_icon::bighug:

I had the chance to speak with Lizzie and she truly appreciates all the love, support, and messages of condolence. She is, as is expected, grieving this very shocking loss.

Thank you all. Shocked is an understatement. The bone marrow biopsy would have likely given answers but none of those would have been good. He was no longer making red or white blood cells or platelets. This was an underlying disease or condition that had absolutely nothing to do with the ingestion of the shoe sole. Just a bizarre coincidence.

I wasn't willing to let him suffer. He is missed by all of us. He may have been a PITA, but we loved him dearly. Quirks and all.

What a beautiful boy Lizzie. I am so sorry for the very sudden & unexpected loss of your young fur baby. I hope that all the memories of his very spirited personality provide you & your family with some much needed comfort in the coming days:bighug:.

I just couldn't believe my eyes, such a young boy, I can imagine how devastated you are.

I'm so very sorry to read this sad news :( It is never easy to let them go and I know he will be in your heart forever. These kitties do that...they steal a piece of our heart forever.

Dear Lizzie,
I am sad that you lost your beautiful boy. He was so lucky to have found a loving home with you and your family. It doesn't seem fair that he could not have had more time to be with you. Our GAs at the Bridge will keep Frankie "in good paws" until that wonderful day when you will be reunited.
