Interesting, same 396 last night and this morning. Continuing with 0.75.
I did not get a +2 after PMPS that I wanted to.

Woke up to Lee peeing in the box near the bed but with her butt sticking out, so she peed mostly on the litter mat in front of it, and the puppy pad I put underneath. Thank goodness for those! BUT, woke up this morning to pee in the living room area (like she squatted to pee in the middle of the room) and some pee in the computer room on the computer chair mat that she peed on the night before. LE SIGH. I think that mat needs to go. Will spray it down soaked outside and let it dry. Really hoping this is a temporary situation with her higher BG. She's drinking more water than even her "higher than normal non DB kitty" amount. Just thankful we have hardwood floors.

ah, the joys of pee . . . ;)

I finally got a giant rubbermaid box for one of the litter boxes in the hopes that the kitties couldn't miss being in it. They seem to want to hang at the side, though.

Any chance she's got a bladder infection? Or sterile cystitis? Whenever punkin started peeing elsewhere, that was his signal that he hurt. it would often turn bloody fairly quickly. my personal favorite was when he peed right in the middle of our bed. :banghead: Dr. Lisa has a lot of great info about urinary tract problems in a post here - look at the bottom under UTI.

Just got a report that she "struck again"... Sigh. I think taking her in is the next step just to rule out medical. She has a shy bladder so I know that it'll take a while to get a sample out of her, I was seriously going to try to collect a "floor sample" next time she did it, but she struck again before But same spot as before, which is essentially midpoint of her path between the upstairs bedroom (her main daytime hangout, where we have a cat box next to the bed) and the downstairs where the food is (and two other cat boxes in the bathroom). Going to move one of the cat boxes from the bathroom to her chosen midpoint spot. Not the best solution long term but it'll HOPEFULLY resolve this issue for now.

Is she peeing a lot or just little spots? Tess is prone to bladder infections and when we see her squatting repeatedly we know something is up. I'd do a check for UTI, either infection or inflammation. They really need a sterile sample, taken directly from the bladder w/ a needle (Cystocentesis). And it needs to be checked right away. A urine sample that is even half an hour old can form crystals that weren't present in the bladder.

However, Emma would get so excited at something new she'd just run and let loose a full bladder. Twice on the down comforter on the bed! :banghead:

If she's being checked for an infection, the best thing is to have them do a cystocentesis - which is when they withdraw a sample of urine from her bladder using a needle. It's not as bad as that sounds. that way there is no contamination and you can be certain that the sample is accurate.

putting a box where she's been going is a great idea. as long as you don't accidentally step in it! LOL i've always had a fear of accidentally dumping the whole litter box over. hahahaha

do you have an enzyme cleaner to get rid of the smell? i don't know how it would be on a hardwood floor, but it might even work just wiping it with the enzyme cleaner.

Ann - its a lot of urine each time. She's got an elephant bladder, and still drinks lots of water, esp right now b/c her BG is higher than normal.

Julie - I'm using anti-icky poo which seems to work best for enzyme cleaner. Well, maybe not? LOL

Yes, read quite a bit from that link you posted, thank you BTW, and will definitely be asking for a cystocentesis, as well as discuss the antibiotics. Again, its weird b/c she's not avoiding the boxes entirely, just might be too long of a walk between boxes. I imagine her getting off the bed, passing the first box, walking to the stairs, and about half way down, the sense of urgency strikes, then can't make it to the other boxes, so she squats. And, I'm sure there's still a lingering scent where she's peed before (I don't believe it 100% goes away from the floors).

Good thing she's my sassy mouth girl... between the elevated BG and the increase frequency of the pee, she's testing my patience! We are at 0.75u this morning, might move her to 1u skinny tomorrow if her tests are still high.

I hope Lee Lu clears the bounce soon. Sorry about the peeing where she shouldn't. I think a vet visit is a good idea to rule out an infection. I hope moving the lb helps.

I am sorry to see Lee Lu is bouncing, been there, done that! As regarding the pee problem, I was wondering if there might be a UTI as well, I hope not! My kitty has a habit of peeing on the vet when her bladder is full but that is the only way to accurately determine if AB is needed and then Lee Lu can feel better.
