Happy January 2nd!

Better start for Jetta this morning, and I'm not making any predictions for today! I've learned that lesson finally :lol: :lol:

Thank you to all who stopped by yesterday evening with advice, encouragement, and kind words. I'm going shopping today, food lists in hand, to find a variety of 8-11% range carb foods to see if we can stop the dives by loading the carbs at AMPS to gain a flatter curve. I'm excited to see what happens!!!

It's great to have a plan in place - I hope it works for Jetta, who is proving that without a doubt, ECID :lol: ! Enjoy food shopping!!!

I hope the carb loading helps. It's so alarming to see her shoot so high! But today is starting good. Here's hoping it stays that way.

Nice start this morning and there's a small dive! Slow down just a bit, Jetta. We started the same strategy with Zener (not sure it's helping much but other stuff has been going on). We are now adding honey when he drops a lot. We found that switching to higher carb food (11, 14 or 17%) made it harder for him to go back to his lower carb food (8%) and adding the honey to 8% was better for him.

Thanks for visiting his condo last night. I don't know that any deep cleaning went on... :lol: :lol: The coke sounds like a miserable clean-up too. Happy Monday!

Hi guys .. glad to see Jetta is down to yellows by +2! I hope the new food choices slow down her dives .. it's always kinda exciting to try something new, thinking of all the good it could do .. have a great day guys!

Morning guys! Good luck with the new feeding schedule. I do this with Mannie - the bulk of his food is served in the first three hours of his cycle. It does help level him out, and control the dives. He was, at the beginning, a horrific diver - and aptly called the fdmb diving champion. Front loading the cycle with food has really helped him. (Depending on) the severity of his dives determined what carb foods he got - I started with the MC, and am now on 4% LC for practically all his meals. I hope it will help with Jetta too. It won't be over night, so be patient - it was a good month with Mannie before we saw a significant improvement.

Nice =2 today - already she is coming down. Good girl Jetta.

I had a very successful shopping trip at my local pet specialty store (and I now have a large 2 written on my chin in Sharpie Marker...) Anyway, I ended up with 7 kinds of food ranging in carbs from 8-15% (and one can of 2% that I hadn't found before and want to try for the post-nadir feedings) Every employee had to come check me out with my multi-colored excel print out and furrowed brow. I was likely the most exciting thing they were going to see today.

I marked the top of each can with the carb % so as we progress throug our experiments I can easily chart what affect any given percentage has. Then I stacked them all up and used my chin to prevent an avalanche as I hauled them to the pantry. Apparently the top of the 2% can wasn't dry. I may also now be the most exciting thing the grocery store sees all day since I'm headed there next. I can hear them now "Hey Bill- did you see that lady with the #2 on her chin. She must've had a serious new year eve party.." Sigh :? :? :oops:

:lol: :lol: :lol: Maybe you will earn the moniker "#2" like the guy on Star Trek. Anne had to write the % carbs on the side of the can too, since the lid came off and we had so many open, trying to figure out what he would eat. :roll: I hope Jetta likes them all and they help her dives. If not, will the other cats eat it? Oh, you also have the ferals. No problem with food Jetta won't eat. :lol: :lol:

Happy New Year first! Jetta is making some progress and that is great..You got some great input yesterday & the whole thing here in LL is Trial & error..You will surely find Jetta's niche, & find a way to control the dives...
Just keep experimenting & the right thing will happen--You are doing great & so is Jetta

:lol: :lol: :lol: very funny shopping stories!!! The same people always seem to work at the place where we get cat food and their eyes light up with $$$ when they see us coming in :lol: :lol: PAYDIRT!!!

Wow...there goes Ms. Jetta on a big drop again tonight. BTW, the food mgmt thing sometimes takes a little time to see a difference so don't get discouraged if you don't see a big change right away. Just hang in there.

If you look at Gracie's SS, you'll see that we actually also note the % carbs we fed at each meal so we can see what works, what doesn't, and how long it takes.
