Since Gideon was in the GREENS yesterday, I am wondering if he dipped a bit low during the night, and that is why we had a 177 at AMPS this morning. He is doing well and still receiving Lantus 0.1 units BID. I just pull up a couple drops, which brings me to the bottom of the empty/ZERO line, if that makes sense. I line up the top of the plunger with the bottom of the ZERO line. The top of the ZERO line is closest to the needle. The lines are not always straight, so we always use the lowest point to ensure Gideon is just getting a couple of drops. We have the calipers, but it seems almost impossible to use on such a small dose. Hoping someday, Gideon will be in remission, and we will not have to measure the insulin.
