Zener feels good this morning, in spite of his higher numbers. He's wanting lots of petting. Appetite is good once the bean realized he wasn't going to eat anything less than 11%. In fact, he's asking for something now. :-D

Great to hear that he is eating and asking for food! Back you are to the higher carb, but that can be fixed later.

Any fuds are great right now. As long as he will eat you can adjust the insulin. Keep the bean busy filling that dish Z.

Mr. Z! Sure am glad you decided to eat but why don't you eat the LC foods instead? You'll feel even better when those numbers are lower. We know you're a really sweet guy without showing us...

Pink never looked so good. Still an ugh but we're going in the right direction. Zener has been attacking a cheesy plastic cat that used to hold treats and is sitting on the floor. I guess he can still smell the treats. He was on his testing/feeding footstool and came in to tell me that it's time to eat again. :-D Gotta go!

Karrie: He is such a picky eater. I tried sneaking in some of the lower carb (5%) food that he has eaten in the past and he wasn't interested. I decided I couldn't fight that battle right now. When we get him in better numbers, we'll try lowering the carbs.

I agree, the menu can be adjusted later, as long as he's eating that's all that matters! It's great to read he's doing so well. Has his AC said anything about how he's feeling lately? she definitely sounds like a very good AC. I hope being the only bean for a week has been going well and not too stressful on you! You are doing a wonderful job Liz!

I am definitely doing better as BIC now than I did last Sept, even with more to deal with now. Those Cerenia shots were a little nervewracking but we got though it. Partly I have more experience doing everything and partly I am following Zener's advice to pet more and worry less. He's not getting nearly enough petting this week though.

Anne is doing fine. The meetings have been exceedingly frustrating due to an obstructionist on the committee. Anne is a very patient person but this guy is driving her crazy. Thank goodness Zener is eating and generally doing better so she doesn't worry so much about him too. We are at the halfway point of her trip. :-D

So glad that Zener is eating on his own. Morgaine is also very finicky and i had to feed her lower fat as well. Went through everything and she finally settled on Pro Plan Turkey and Giblets, about 6% carb but it has wheat. Have you tried Pro Plan Chicken and Liver? Morgaine loves it but it has too much fat for a kitty with high triglycerides. It has about 2% carbs and is pretty clean. I hope you find something he will like with a lower carb when the time is right. I agree that his eating is what matters most as you can always increase the insulin for now. Kitties are so complicated, reminds me of humans :smile: .
 
Zener likes his carbs, and I can't say that I blame him :lol: His numbers are looking better tonight, that is a very light pink at +2! Good to hear Anne is doing OK and yay for the halfway point! Liz you are doing a great job :-D
