Not much to report. My DH thinks Zeke may not be feeling well. I know we didn't have a fur shot this morning so perhaps he is under the weather and that's causing these yucky numbers. Except for some activity earlier (chased Ivan), he's been sleeping most of the morning. We went ahead and got and started a new vial of insulin yesterday. Felt it would probably be better to ditch the old vial as we didn't properly handle early on. When we first started the shots we pumped some insulin back into the vial, injecting silicone into the bottle. Had hoped we'd see maybe at least a little improvement with the fresh insulin but obviously that didn't happen. His numbers have only worsen. :YMSIGH:

At this point, still just taking a wait and see approach. Not much else we can do.

I know how you feel, wait and see is soooo hard :sad: I hope that Zeke will show you some blues today, at least :-D Feel better vines to Zeke, and hopes that you have a great Sunday!

Well...those numbers made me take a second look. He looked great yesterday and last night.

Is he eating, drinking, etc. Have you checked ketones? It's not like Zeke to be flat yellow all day. What's going on Zeke??

Agree, this is a very "un-Zeke-like" cycle.

Normal eating & drinking. He doesn't typically drink much since we put him on insulin. Haven't checked ketones. I'll try and get a test later. Yea, I was scratching my head on this cycle as well.

Hope Zeke comes back down to his lovely blue/green numbers~ And that he starts acting more like himself :smile:

For cats to usually do something like that on a dose that had them looking great, they are usually either ill, it'd a fur shot, there is no absorption (you shot in a dead area), or there's an insulin issue. We know the insulin is ok. I'm assuming. Although I have gotten a pen or two that were bad from the get go.

I don't rule out a bounce but Zeke usually clears his bounces fast fast.

This is one of those "put it in the rearview mirror" days.

We're happy to see his numbers improve tonight. I think he's feeling ok/better. If he wasn't feeling well, it didn't seem to affect his appetite.
