Yesterday

Good Morning, L&LL,

Rusty had a good night and didn't go too high after yesterday evening's fur shot. We trust he will be back on track later. He's asleep in his window perch and hasn't eaten much of his breakfast yet--but he will.

Rain, freezing drizzle, wet snow continue. This is a really long "January Thaw". Tomorrow we're supposed to go on an easy snowshoe, but it will probably be a bare-boots walk (with microspikes). The weather prediction is for "freezing fog". Doesn't sound very scenic. Perhaps the leader will cancel.

Yesterday I borrowed a Mac cable that will hook up to a projector so that during my presentation on Sunday I can show photographs of my parents' 1922 canoe trip while I am reading from my mother's diary of the trip. Got to go now to figure out how to set it up.

Sorry, responded to the old condo. Wasn't expecting this one so early.

Rusty is barely off the beach, he will recover quickly as he always does.

Freezing fog? Yuck? We had fog coming off the snow when it got warmer, and even more pretty was the fog coming off the water when we were rowing through it last weekend (below freezing).

I don't recall ever seeing snow fog; sounds beautiful. Here there's a mostly summertime phenomenon that local mariners here call "the wall". Heavy mist/fog forms only at the mouth of the river, usually at end of day when the cooler early evening air meets with the water temp that's warmer because of day's summer sun. I'm not sure if tide is a factor in the phenomenon.

I finally got it to work. Took all afternoon! The problem was that I have a MAC, but the projector is a DELL and everything is set up for a PC.

Your weather sounds absolutely dreadful Ella....so you keep it, OK? We've got fog, but at least it's not the "freezing" type!! (although it can make the trees beautiful if the sun comes out)
