1/19 Mikey PMPS 228 +2 166 +4 96...Nervous Mommy!!

AMPS 188 Blue start to the day. Still trying to figure out the correct dose with new needles that are a slightly fatter syringe than before. I think last night was a slight underdose. I'm away on and off for a few days starting tomorrow night, so i don't really mind if my roommate gives a slightly smaller dose. I don't think it will hurt anything-he was in the blue last night, just a little higher than usual. I practiced this morning but am still having a hard time seeing the dose. On the old needle, it was just to the top of the last line, no daylight at eye level. On these needles, that's not quite enough.

Those micro doses are hard enough! Good luck! Mikey is still doing great.

I hope all goes well on your work project.

+2 194 Feeling SO frustrated with these needles. Obviously I underdosed again. I cannot seem to read them right at all, no matter how much I practice. The other brand was easy.

At least I don't have to worry about hypo while I meet a friend for lunch and a movie :roll:

Hi guys .. sorry to hear you are having trouble with your syringes .. It's amazing how just a little difference in insulin can impact the numbers .. mikey is still in healing numbers so let's be thankful for that .. enjoy your lunch and the movie!

PMPS 228 Slowly getting the hang of these needles...It's hard because there needs to be a teeny bit of daylight above that bottom line, and I keep worrying I'm getting too much, even if I'm erring on the slim side. My roommate drew and shot tonight and did great. Tomorrow night will be my first time away at shot time since his diagnosis. I'm going to try not to be a nervous wreck. My roommate will be saved from me calling incessantly by the fact that I'll be in an auditorium for three hours and can't leave because of TV broadcast.

Hi Amy:

I'm so sorry for the frustration of the new syringes. It does take some getting used to and if you have a kitty like Mikey and Gracie who are sensitive to very small changes, it makes it even more frustrating.

Have you taught your roommate how to get into LL in case she needs any help and can't get you? We'd be more than happy to answer questions and help her.

Try to relax and HAVE FUN!! You deserve it!

+2 166 Still not quite getting that dose right. I'll use one of the old needles to make sure he gets a correct dose in the AM and then let my roommate work with this dose while I'm gone. He's still hitting blue, and I'd rather these numbers than a hypo.

yay for having a roommate that's willing to help you out! that's pretty great.

i hope you can get the dose figured out on your new syringes. that's gotta be frustrating.

+4 96 So I think we're slowly figuring it...not quite as low as usual, but a little dip in the green. The hard part is that I have to see daylight above the last line on these and not on the old ones, and with Mikey, too much is not very much at all! I'm afraid of OD'ing him so being conservative.
