HEALTH AND DOSE INFO: Yesterday was.... a good day in MannieLand. Appy was decent, AB seem to be tolerated, bupe seems to be doing it's thing without him being stoned, LB is still good, despite the AB's (paws crossed there), and he is coming out to be social. It was nice too to see him taking a couple of baths, head to toe. These are all baby steps, and he continues to move forward, slowly. The vet called yesterday too to check on Mannie. That, to me, is great - she hasn't missed a day sine he became sick. :cool: Now that the AB's are on board I will be increasing Mannie's dose some, to compensate for the elevated BG's one gets with the AB's, and to get his numbers down even more. Appy this morning was good, once I found something he wanted. Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Mannie got a new fleece yesterday - you know... those free ones that show in the mail... So I took it out of the bag, trying to decide what to do with it, when He decide it was his. SO I fluffed it up, put it by his bed, and good to go. :lol: :cool: Elsa never even had a chance to sniff it... :roll: It has been what seems to be a good day for Mannie. He seems more alert, certainly more so than last week. Nicholas has been very good about being gentle with Mannie. He's also wnated to help with Mannie's care - it still amazes me that he knows what a test is, how to do it, and makes sure I don't mess it up, or do anything out of order. You gotta love it. He made sure too that I didn't miss any meals. I heard alot of "man-NIE food!" It's a good thing that he is not in charge of feeding him - it might be every hour. :lol: :lol: Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. Appy was good, once I found the right one. Just a little picky this AM, but he ate. Close to normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. Today will be catch up day, and errand day, and shopping day: human and furkid, bad whatever else sounds good. We are still cold, at 33 this morning. Fog set in very early yesterday morning and has not lifted.... still dense as pea soup out there this morning. FUN!, ought to make for an interesting hike to the shore - hope I can go. :-D

Hey everybody! What's up??? Whatcha wanna do today? Maybe just a chillaxin' day today? I dunno! How about some sunny warm sand at the beach? We could build a bon fire and grill and stuff, maybe some fish or lizards or somethin'. let me know - I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

Morning Michelle, nice yellow starter for Mannie today. His condo sounds like he's improving every day. So glad he's tolerating the med and not getting stoned :lol: on the bupe. Mags sure was after some of his bupe yesterday but decided Mannie needed his meds, so she had extra tuna toddies. :lol: That is so neat your Vet calls every day checking on Mannie. That's a good Vet making sure he's okay. Love the pics of Nicholas, especially the first underwater one, eyes open too! Really diggin into that burger, too. :-D Have a great time on chores, maybe a walk later.

Hey Mannie, chillaxin sounds great. The beach and boardwalk will be beautiful today, as temps will get up to 70 or so, so we can do that as one thing . Brings lots of sunblock. There is a new fish taco shop open, and we can show them how to dress up the taco. See ya soon at the curg, Mags

Do Mannie's numbers really go up on an AB? Unless it's a liquid AB that's got a sugary base, numbers should start to come down once the AB starts to clear the infection out.

It's good to see Mannie back in better numbers.

350 @ +2. Appy was way off for this feeding. very discouraging. We got some BF in him, wasn't interested in his food. I really do wondered if this is the AB's. we were doing great before we started these yesterday. Wish I knew. LB is still normal.

Sienne - the AB did the last time he was on it for his UTI, which was a pill, and not liquid. Then again, there were so many things going on with him at that time, that is is really hard to say. I wish I knew for certain. I do now his numbers were way up, and remained up until they were done. And yes on the numbers, hope hat continues.

That's so neat Nicholas knows the testing procedure. I hope Mannie's appy gets better today. I wonder if it could be like with people when they are sick. I know when I am getting over something I feel better one day and then worse the next. Maybe his appy is just off today and will be better tomorrow. I hope the abs don't make his bg go up too much.

Morning guys wrong way Mannie! So encouraging to hear things are getting more normal. Hope when you decide to increase it will bring him down. Sending appy vines, glad that is improving. 242 @ +4.5, 250 @ +6.5. I have not been able to get him to eat anything since his +2. The vet and I both feel that it is the AB's, so we will discontinue those and see how he does over the next few days. I sure wish I hadn't given it to him this morning. This is very discouraging - the appy. I so hope it was just one of those mornings.... Sure do not want to go back to the HC fuds to get him to eat, but we will do what we have to do...

UGH on the crappy appy. We know just how stressful this can be. Paws crossed stopping the ABs will get him back on the road to improved appy and soon. We are sending lots of balancing vines to you and healing vines to our Mannie.

That's a bummer with the appy and ab's the cause of it. Good it was caught right away. Hope soon with this taken away, Mannie's appy will get better. Sending Mannie lots of healing and appy vines. Hope you were able to get in a walk/hike today, Michelle.

164 @ pmps. Mannie did eat tonight, but it took MD canned MC to get that accomplished. I decided before test that I would go back to the last good food, the one that had him dancing and start anew with the food. So far that worked tonight, he ate all that I asked him to eat, it was the only can I had to open. it is a relief. I have held the dose, and did not fatten it as originally planned. How wonderful it is to see him Blue tonight.

Hi Ann - it is... today has been stressful, what with the eating and all. I strongly suspect the AB, and it has been stopped, I just hope it gets out of his system soon. ;-) I think Mannie got those vines, since he did eat fairly well tonight. I so hope that continues. :-D :-D no, didn't make a hike, I should have, but it is till freezing here and the fog never lifted, and Mannie had me upset, a little, so I worked on home things, which needed to be done. So I felt good about that - got a few things done. :-D :-D

OK Mannie, time to expand your food horizons just a little bit. This blue is nice, but we want you to stay there. We are sending some more appy down the I5, this time for variety and low carbs. Although Neko can highly recommend bread as a wonderful HC option. :roll:

I hope the fog manages to burn away for you during the day. We are just a bit above it and the sunset was beautiful tonight.

I'm glad you stopped the a/bs. What exactly were they for? (I can't remember, was it the possibility of a UTI? ). Anyway, he ate tonight, his numbers are down, and he's feeling better. That's great!

I wouldn't be surprised if the appy issues were caused by the AB...it's just too much of a coincidence. I'm so glad he ate for you tonight...at this point, it doesn't matter what it is, as long as he eats and eats and eats!

Hi Ella - oh me too on the AB's. I have a fiend who has told e today that she has given that to one of her cats and it also made her kitty very sick, She had to discontinue it too, after only two doses. My understanding is that they give AB's for pancreatitis in case the root cause is bacterial. I'm not too sure that will apply to Mannie or not, but do know now that he will not be getting any more! and yes on tonight - a great pmps, he ate, but what a bummer on that +2. another bounce fueled by MC. oh well... he will come back down again.

Hi Amy -THX! I SO AGREE on the AB's causing this - I have no doubt (see my reply to Ella) and also agree - the main ting tonight was that he ate, no matter what it was. We can get the rest back: food, bg's etc, in time.

Hi Wendy - Oh I so agree - it was so painful to dish up that MC tonight, but did what I had to do to get him back on board in the eating department. I so hope I don't have to go there tomorrow... one bridge at a time I guess. we did not see a fog break today - so so bummed! It has not left us, and we are at 500 feet, and close to the water, so it has been a total socked in today. freezing tonight, so tomorrow ought to be interesting. I so dislike freezing fog... I can so see your sunset - way coool!

Well ick on the bounce but if you are having a hard time getting him to eat consistently, at least you will not have to fight tonight to keep his numbers up.

Sending him big healing vines. I hope the vet can find an A/B that works or he will do fine without it.
 
Hi Anne and Liz - yupp, just plain ugly, we ended ugly, we start this morning even uglier, but at least he ate, we hope that continues and now we work on better fuds, better BG's. :-D THX for the hugs, those I needed yesterday. I so hope that all is better with Zener.

Hi Marje - well this is true - it was an ugly ugly bounce, but at least I didn't have too worry too much if the eating stopped last night. It didn't, he ate this AM, so things are a little better. and yes on the fuds. I would love to think that he just doesn't need it. AB's and Mannie have not been a good combo lately.
