First 1.0u on our sliding scale this AM.

AMPS = 245
+4 = 251
+5 = 260 (fed 1/2 can FF)
+6 = 222
+7 = 207
+8 = 246
+10 = 245
PMPS = 330
+3 = 313
+6 = 301
+7 = 268 (fed 1/2 can FF)

Going to continue with the sliding scale and possibly up it a 0.25u depending on what Eddie's numbers do over the next few days. Otherwise will hold the course. It does seem like he takes a few cycles to settle in.

Re: 1/19 Eddie AMPS - 245, +4 = 251, +6 = 222

AM cycle hasn't been terrible so far, but it's been pretty flat. This follows approx. 2 relatively flat cycles on our new sliding scale dosing - 1.0u for pre-shots 200+, and 1.25u for pre-shots 300+. Should I continue to hold this sliding scale for a couple more cycles, or am I OK in bumping it up a tad for each dose to try to get some lower mid-cycle numbers?

Re: 1/19 Eddie AMPS - 245, +4 = 251, +6 = 222

I'm not sure, Jen. The 1 unit didn't look great for the 200s today, but 1.25 worked pretty well for that red amps. I don't think I'd go alot higher for the 200s. Maybe 1 for 200, a fat one for around 250? 1.3 for the 300s/400s?

There is always a question about how fast to increase vs giving it a few cycles. Sometimes it's clear that holding three cycles works best for a particular cat while another does okay changing it up more often. A few cycles ago it looked like Eddie was going to take awhile to settle into a dose. Should we wait one more cycle or push a little harder? Guess you try one or the other and see.....

As others have said many times, wouldn't it be nice if Fd cats came with owner's manuals?

Re: 1/19 Eddie AMPS - 245, +4 = 251, +6 = 222

Thank you for your input Sue. Just when I think there's some pattern to Eddie's cycles, it changes. I think we will try one more cycle at the current scale. He's had a couple cycles where he's been flat, then suddenly, the next cycle, he drops, so I guess it's better to err on the side of caution.

Owners manuals for FD that include precise instructions that work every time would be great!! :-D

Like the idea of keeping track of fuds on your ss and better to be flat than going BOING all the time. :smile:
Stay with current scale another cycle...Our sugar-cats are full of surprises. :roll:

Maybe we can spot trends with the fuds, so that was the thought process there. We're torn between trying to make sure our two crunchy-addict civies eat enough, and hopefully find some wet noms they will eat, versus keeping highly dangerous contraband in the house. If we continue to have really random numbers, controlling for as many of the other variables as we can, I think we'll experiment with strictly FF for a week or so to see what happens. The downside is that the naughty, stubborn addicts will only eat FF about 1 out of every three meals.

I'm with you on the flat cycle. A flat cycle in the yellows seems better in my mind than one going from 400 to 50 and back. Eddie has been known to have a flat cycle after a couple cycles on a particular dose, and then the next cycle, he drops like a rock late in the PM on that same dose. He likes to keep it really interesting! Our u100 syringes have arrived, and are locked in the apt. manager's office till Monday, but assuming Eddie doesn't do anything exciting tonight, I think we'll adjust the scale up just slightly tomorrow -- like 1u for 200, 1.2 for 250ish, and 1.4u for 300+.

I had NOT seen that video before! After watching it, I looked around at our pack and imagined all the nefarious stuff each of them would do if only they had thumbs to do it. haha_smiley
