..Pudgey and me doing ok this morning. its cold and beautiful out….. and hes feeling better or pretty good i can tell.. happy for it today. i was afraid a little last night cuz he seemed off his food a bit again but he ateee… yayy.. i stayed up a bit.. took a shower. hes been eating but i can tell still a little inappetance.. gave some Mirataz this AM HALF or a little less or more dose.. frm the strip on the box anyway. hope thats ok. wanted to get ahead of anything later.. .. but didnt want to overmedicate either.

ER nurse just followed up.. she said getting him to go is what matters too rn. suggested heating pads in his places, pumpkin in food, Purina HydraCare (?), water in his food, twice a day for the Miralax.. and to give him 100 mL every other day.. and she said give full dose of Mirataz.. wont hurt him, but will just help.. (@Suzanne & Darcy i just gave 1/2.. cuz hes eating still.. wut maybe think? ) thoughts???

Yeahh.. nugget still aint gone good. but im doing what i can to help him.. gonna try fluids soon.
still taking it slow.. decided to give a few days and go up gradually also w insulin, tho know can just do so, but w all this rn.. happy for a bit of time to focus more on these.. but want his numbers to be sufficient too.. will go as things come. (will keep for 3 days least as we go.. @Wendy&Neko ..)

I need to get caught up before I can see if I can help but sounds like today is a better day. Another thing to try for constipation is psyllium husk powder. I’m giving it to one of mine who was inappetent and vomiting small amounts of fur. I think it is helping. I started for the other one who had pudding stool all of a sudden and that and SBoulardii is helping. Something safe to add if what you are giving does not work. Hugs.

::update…. :: yayy.. he got some fluids. terumo needle went in nice and easy; no cry this time at all.. he had a bunch of treats to distract him, bathroom sink nice and high.. Doing 3 things at once tho not easy.. but we did it for today.. stream seemed a bit slow.. but wasnt too bad. i hope to get better w time if and when he needs them.. id say he got about 40-50 mL.. this time went so much better. it went around his shoulders tho. i just put it wherever i could grab it was loose enough near his shoulders and back.. ill move the needle around a bit if see the flow has stopped.. assume that is what u do?.. he got impatient, too, and maybe couldve done more.. but he wanted down. i think im happy w that. hes acting very ok and not bothered at all rn.. normal. i know the smaller amount is more comfortable.. win. am going to do best to give more tho or work up to them.. i remembered too this morning i gotta find another spot for his shot; did like the flank/tummy near his thigh? ten times easier than the neck..

theres GOTTA be a better way to warm the fluids.. i think im sticking rn w a warm water bowl?.. but geez. if goes cold just stick it in the microwave.. i dont like wasting water tho. i tried the heating pad. trash. warming delayed me like tens of minutes…… anyway bought a thermometer to test water.. and bag usually says around 96-97 degrees when i grab it and hoist it up. better than room temp right?

Don't stick fluids in the microwave. I like using a bread pan for warming fluids, just the right size.
