Good Morning LL! After another really late night I took Sienne's suggestion that the 40 the night before might qualify for a reduction. I hope that waiting an extra cycle hasn't negated it but, I'm sure she would have gone there last night too except for the syrup. For newbies, Tess usually has a hard time holding reductions and she needs to get into the 30s to get one.

WCR All 5 Ps Tired kitty so not too much playing and tired bean, so BTB for both of us.

Well, food spike/ bounce to be expected. A bit more playing from Tess, s good sigh, finally BTB. I was too close to +1 to go brfore.

Very nice cycle last night Tess. Good luck with the dosecrease....great to see her moving down that ladder. Paws crossed she will move past this food spike and have

Morning! nice cycle last night - sorry I missed the end of it. Good luck with the reduction - I hope she holds it. It is so great to see her move on down the dosing scale. Go Tess!

Enjoy that BTB - no doubt that you deserve it. Tess - go snuggle with your bean.

Tess, Rusty is so happy that you are not going to attempt diving into the ice-fishing holes tomorrow night. But Mannie is bringing some ropes just in case.

Hope that Tess's day will gather some downward momentum later. Did you make the switch yet to Lev.? I don't have any basis for comparison with Rusty because he had already been on Lev. for quite some time (Phoebe switched him because Tiggy was on Lev and she didn't want to have to deal with 2 different insulins). When Rusty was a foster at Claudia's he was on Lantus, but I haven't seen any numbers from that time. Claudia advised me not to put him back on Lantus. She believes that Lev. produces better results in a long-term diabetic (more even cycles). Good luck if you decide to make the switch.

Oh Tess.....please come down from there. You are too beautiful for red!!! This happened to us yesterday....beautiful AMPS and then up up up up. ohmygod_smile but she'll come back down...she always does, our Tess.

No worries! Tess is coming down already, but maybe a little too fast. I'm not too surprised at the PS number, she ws bouncing and got a reduction this morning on top of it. I'm going to rey to slow her w/ 5% and a little syrup.

Michelle, you ar efaster than I am! :lol: :lol:

Ann, i'm very curious about the Cosequin...any insights?

i think Smudge has joint issues in her back hips...but they don't seem prohibitive, and bad as this may sound...with Binks' treatment and my upcoming surgery, i'm not ready to generate vet bills for her yet.

Maybe she didn't need the syrup or I over did it. Well it'll clear soon.

Celi, Tess isn't getting the Cosequin for the regular reasons. When she had the UTI before Christmas the ER vet recommended it for Tess because it also is supposed to help ease bladder irritation. It's glucosamine/condritin usually it is used for joint problems. You can get it at pet stores, but it's a lot cheaper online. Just open the capsule and sprinkle it on her food, it's supposed to be tuna flavored.
