Good morning LL,

Rusty is sleeping in his little bed by the radiator after having enjoyed his lung treat. I'm typing on my iPad while waiting to see if he will want his schmooze. All is well here. He has a good AMPS and so far the new, higher-carb Canidae Pure Elements hasn't seemed to spike his bg. I think I can continue to feed it as part of a "mixed platter" and may go to Plattsburgh this afternoon to buy a few more cans. He really loves it (so far!). Next week I will call the company again to try to get a set of numbers that I can make sense out of. I'm sure that I didn't write them down correctly, mathphobic as I am!
We have colder weather and may get some snow later today. We really need to get out on our snowshoes--hpoefully tomorrow if we get enough snow.

Everyone enjoy Caturday. Continuing to send healing vines to all our kitties and beans who are unwell.

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136

Morning Ella!

Very nice number for Rusty to start the day with!
Interesting on the Canidae Pure Elements. I was looking at them in Petco, but didn't buy since I didn't see them on the list either. Maybe I will give them a try and see how they effect Cleo's bg.
Hope you and Rusty are schmoozing :-D Sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday morning :-D

Nice blues there, Rusty!

None or my cats will touch the Candidae/ Look on the List for Felidae, I think they recently changed the name. The dog food was always Candidae as is the company, but the used to have Felidae as the name for the cat food. If not I think I have it on my computerbut I'm away from home and I doubt if John will be able to find it.

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

Sorry that I keep missing you and your condo.

What an nice start for Rusty. Not bad, since you were worried about the carb content of the new food. Good luck with adding it to the platter. It doesn't seem like it affected him much. Maybe call the company again and see if you can get them to confirm their numbers. You will need the "as fed" values. It is great that Rusty liked it so much, and that so far it looks like to can add it some.

Snow? YAY! I hoe that comes to be. We have just been cold, and foggy. Enough so that we haven't been able to get to the rivers. Bummer!

Enjoy your day today. I hope there is fun to be had. :-D

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136

Yes indeed, very pretty blue to start the day Rusty ;-) Happy to see the new food isn't messing with the bg levels. Stay warm up there and have a great afternoon

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136

Looking good, Rusty. The lagoon awaits. No snow here, we're heading toward setting a record for consecutive days without precip. :-x Enjoy your snowshoeing!

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136, +5.5 142

Hi again,
Rusty is sticking with flat blue for now. He's had some of the Canidae Pure Elements this morning, but not a lot. Mostly this morning and early aftenoon he ate FF T&G and Wellness Chicken (his staples). Often we see a downward trend at +5, but I think his shed is still being rebuilt after the fur shot and the dosecrease. But the Canidae may be having an effect, too. I'm also keeping an eye on his breathing, which sounded more congested than usual this morning and I worried that he might be allergic to something in the Canidae. But he's fine now, so I guess it was just his morning gunk.

Not enough snow to snowshoe.

Thanks, Ann. I knew that Felidae was the previous version of this food, but they have changed their formulas quite recently (even more recently than the 2 cans I bought last fall). I wish these companies would put more useful information on their websites! Dr. Lisa lists the carb % for Felidae Pure Elements as 9%.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Ella

Rusty is a much bigger kitty than Sitka was or Tobey is and Dr. B. told me I could easily give Tobey one capsule bid. So I think it's absolutely fine for you to try it and see how he does.

Nice to see flat and blue is better than yellow, right?

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136, +5.5 142

Flat blue is good, I hope Rusty continues to surf, or heads down a bit for you :-D Hopefully you can figure out the Canidae, and can add it to your mix! Have a good Saturday! :-D

Re: 1/18 Rusty AMPS 136, +5.5 142, +9.5 112, PMPS 135

Nice blue cycle for Rusty. He's spent the day sleeping. We're going to start giving him his "lung treat" (Allerplex in a teasp. of turkey baby food) twice a day to see if it will help his congestion. In the mornings he is always more congested, possibly because it peters out after 24 hours. Thanks Marje, for your input!

So it doesn't look as if a small amount of Canidae is having much of an effect on Rusty's bgs. I'm going to try to get some more cans either tomorrow or early next week. I still have 1 can that I can spar out.

Ella & Rusty, who is about to get his second lung treat of the day.

Very nice day for Rusty! Hope the increase in his lung treat helps with the congestion. And, it's great you found another good fuds for him, too!!!

Have a great evening, Ella!!!

Interesting that Canidae/Felidae changed their formula. A few years ago when I volunteered in the shelter, hardly any of the kitties liked the Felidae products.
