YESTERDAY'S CONDO:
http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...23-2-5-83-4-2-86-6-25-84.131550/#post-1353361

Same start as yesterday. I gave him a break last night so I don't know his nadir. He's not really hungry this morning. He ate his baby food but ignored the cat food so far. He was very vocal and woke me up but then went under the bed. He did come to see me to help/hinder my measurement of the insulin though.

Vines and prayers to all in need and for Max too as I hope to see poop soon. I did give him miralax this morning. I hope the injection is helping Tricia and that her four are eating and helping her recoop.

Hi Marilyn. He did with the help of miralax. I guess this is a mini bounce continuing from last night. I could tell this time due to lack of excessive appetite.

I'm pretty certain Max is deaf, either completely or almost completely. I've thought this for a couple of months now but just now I'm sure. He was in my bedroom meowing. I went in and called his name, no response and he was just sitting near my bed on the carpet. Poor baby.

Nice flat blues today so far, Max. Hopefully he gently dips down into the lagoon. I'm glad to read there is POO!

I'm sorry to read that Max seems to be exhibiting signs of being deaf. I know when we've fostered kittens, the vets will test their hearing by making a small noise behind their head by rubbing their fingers to see if their ears move to pick up the sound. Seems as though some of our "differently abled" kitties that are blind, etc., seem to adjust pretty well.

Yay for Poo! (I miss the cheerleader kitty).

Sorry to hear that Max may be deaf. That could be one of the reasons he hides - he probably gets startled easily since he doesn't hear you coming, etc. Cinco adjusted pretty well to being blind, so I'm sure Max will get used to being deaf, especially now that you're aware and can make accommodations for him.

Thanks for visiting Jen and Tricia. I think it also explains why he seems to be in such a deep sleep. If he's lucky maybe there is wax in his ears. I'll see what my vet says on Wednesday. I wasn't going to test him again but he came out to eat which made me think he might have dropped and we have:D!

Miralax always seems to work. Now I have to experiment to see what else will. I have some SEB that I just found (slippery elm bark). It says 1 gram of carbs whatever that means. Since I would just give part of a capsule does anyone know if that will effect his BG?

I've given it to Gracie with no effect on her BG but I have made the syrup. With the syrup, I give her 5 mls but the SEB is pretty diluted as I use 1 tsp in 1 cup of water.

Of course,...ECID....it depends on the carb sensitivitiy of the cat.

I really hope Max is not deaf and there's just wax in his ears.

Sending more prayers for your mom.

Thanks, Marje but I really do think he is deaf. Any particular brand of SEB to buy? Mine expired 2013 even though the bottle was never opened. I looked up and saw NOW on line but it said there was a California 96 warning. Is that true for all SEB? At least his NG came down a little more.:D
