Been a long time since I updated everybody on Garfield so thought it was a good day to do it! He's doing great, although I think my hope that he'd go back into remission after the Depo-Medrol worked out of his system is shot, but he's very tightly controlled and that makes me happy!
He sure isn't China! Has taken some time for me to get used to what HIS "normal" is. He usually takes a huge nosedive by +2, but then he just surfs for the rest of the cycle! China had a much more "normal" action in her cycles.
He's still on low-dose Flovent and we haven't had any more asthma attacks (Thank God!). One was enough to scare the bejeebers out of me. Don't ever want to do that again! If I do hear a cough, I don't assume it's just a hairball anymore. He immediately gets a puff of Albuterol.
Only problem he gives me is that he is a VERY picky eater. Won't eat Fancy Feast, Friskies or any of the more "affordable" foods, so is getting Weruva, but I'll just buy a case of whatever his current favorite is and then he refuses to eat it. Typical cat.....but it's also a major strain on my income! I assure you he eats better than I do (when I can get him to eat). You'd think for a cat his size, he'd eat a lot but if I'm lucky, I'll get 5 ounces of food into him per day, and many days less than that! But he's not losing weight so I'm not going to worry about it (too much).
Hope all your kitties are doing well (or making progress) and that we'll have lots of remissions in 2025!
(I did finally change my avatar but it still somehow feels wrong. China was my first and I'll never forget her or all the lessons she taught me. Garfield is getting the benefit of all that teaching)
