Spot's dental for today was cancelled due to weather. Nothing but a sheet of ice on the streets this morning. I fell twice getting the car and was able to pull into the driveway and load up my work stuff and then Spot. I made it up the top of the hill (I live on a dead end street, but a hill neverthe less) made a left turn to go up another hill, and just couldn't do it. Car kept slipping and sliding, so I was able to back up a bit and turn the car around to go down the hill, but that was also a sheet of ice and I almost wrecked into my neighbors car. I decided at that time that I wasn't going to go anywhere until the either the sun came up and melted the ice or the salt truck comes around or both. So I was able to get my car situated behind neighbors car, but it was also half way in the ally and if the salt truck came, it wouldn't be able to go down the ally to salt. I got out of the car, which was running of course, to see exactly how much room I could play with to try to back up again and don't cha know that Spot took that time to break out of his carrier and promptly stood on the arm of the door and locked the car. So I had to walk down to the house....down the hill covered with ice....to get the spare keys....oops...fell two more time on my way down the hill and another time on my way up the hill. Got into the car, put a leash on Spot and went to walk him down to the house. Got out of the car and slide, Spot decided he wanted to walk, and then he proceeded to slide down the hill also. His collar was starting to slide off his head, so the only thing I could do at that point was to get down on my hands and knees and crawl to him. Eventually I was able to get him to the house w/o falling. Neighbor came out and moved her car down a bit so I had to go back up the hill to move my car enough for the salt trucks to get down the road...fell two more times. Was able to get my car out of the way, but the hill was still a sheet of ice, so at that time, I decided that it would be in my best interest if I stopped into the neighbors house and have a few cups of coffee until it was safe to venture out. My adventure started at 6:30 a.m. and I was finally able to head off to work at 9:50 a.m.
So, poor Spot had to go all night w/o having his snack or w/o breakfast and only got .25u of insulin this morning. He did eventually eat his breakfast, which he really was greatful for!! Not sure what his pmps will be, hopefully not to bad. I'm afraid to reschedule his dental...last week was cancelled due to the weather also.
Hope everyone else had a better morning than me....will try to get on later when I get home.
Hi ebeyone! Whoa, what a morning I had! Mumz didn't feed me than put me in da car and we was spinning and spinning...den she put me on da leash and put me on da ground and I slippy slided down da hill a bit....oh my oh my....but she saved me an got me home in one piece....oh goodness, I is so stressed!! I neber want to go frew dat again!!! Would it be possible for da KTSS team to come on ober to my place and gibs me a nice soothing treatment???? Oh, my I would lubs dat!!!! Me hopes ebeyone else has a good day and please be safe!!....Lubs Spot
