First, I want to say, Daphne now has her own pictures up, ALL THANKS TO Marjorie! Someday, I'll learn how to do it myself, so I can update things. :?

Daphne had a dose reduction 4 days ago, and I guess she is doing well. I'm a little concerned if it goes much lower, (71 is the lowest of the days), so maybe there will be another reduction soon. I have strips on order, (thats why I don't have as many #'s) and will arrive on Friday I hope. I still have about 8 or so left, and I can go to my brother-in-laws (5min. away) to get more for his meter. I don't like his as much as my Bayer, but its nice to have a spare.

Hope everyone had a good day today.

Daphne has fantastic numbers!! and......she is a natural blonde too :-D  very cute pictures of Daphne, she is a beauty.

I hope you get your strips soon, it's an uneasy feeling not having many left isn't it? Have a great evening Barb!

Daphne is beautiful!!

And what great numbers!! I'm going to encourage you to keep strips on hand. When you start seeing numbers this good, things can get exciting and it's best to be prepared.

Contour strips are on the pricer side. I use a Contour and I've found the best prices on EBay. (The deal of the year was $50 for 300 strips.) If you are near a Walmart, the Relion meter and strips are much less expensive. You can mail order Arkray strips that work in the Relion meters via ADW or order a meter and strips.

Looking Good !

I use the Bayer Contour as well - even my spare is a Bayer
I too look on ebay for strips, god deals and never a problem (I always buy from a reputable seller).

Very nice number, Daphne! and I love the picures :-D

I always get concerned (like I am at this moment, bidding on EBay), when I have fewer than 100 strips. I know I can always go to WalMart and get their ReliOn meter and strips in a pinch, if I have to.

Daphne is doing so well. GOooo Daphne!

Thank you all, for your wonderful compliments for Daphne. I think she thinks she's a real princess, so I just let her believe that. ;-) And, yes, she is definitely treated like one around here!

So first thing AM I will go to brother-in-law for strips. I'm sure when I get home they'll be at my door nailbite_smile. I spent $47.00 for 100 from Amazon, and I purchased from the same company I did last time and they came in 4 days, so thats why I wasn't concerned, but you never know, and with the crazy weather all over the world, I think it's a good idea too, to have a supply on hand just in case. No matter, I know I'm new here, but if you knew me, you would know I would remortgage my home for my cats. I'll buy them from the nearest drugstore if I had to. In our house there is no diference between humans and animals, they are all the same

Gorgeous pics of Daphne, and gorgeous numbers, too!

Yep, you're our kind of people, too!

I switched to a ReliOn last fall, and I have to say I love it. I've never used a Contour, but my original meter was One Touch Ultra Mini. Aside from the fact that the strips cost 3 times as much, the OT also needed a lot more blood (it's amazing how much of a difference it can make!!). The Relion has been very, well, reliable so far, and when you order strips from ADW, they arrive very promptly. Just in a little feedback, in case you ever do decide to switch!

Amy, thanks for the info on your meter. The One Touch is my brother-in-law's, and the only one we had at first, and then FDMD sent me the Bayer, wow, that was a difference. I realized then that the One Touch needed so much blood, and I've been using it for most of today, and I'm really happy I have the Bayer. But also, if I can make my life even easier with the one you use, I'll look into it for sure.

Thanks!!
