Yesterday's Condo
Well, we still aren't back on schedule, since my DH gets up and starts working (on the computer), and once again lost track of time this am. We'll adjust tonight's shot down a bit and keep adjusting tomorrow so we can hopefully get back to "normal" on Monday. Whatever that is. Fortunately, Cinco is used to fluctuating shot times and it really doesn't seem to mess him up (unless the fluctuation is three or four hours :-x ). His numbers yesteday and so far today are right back where they were before the curve fiasco.
His appetite, as always, continues to be excellent, but he seems a little more droopy today, so I'm going to give him some sub-q fluids this afternoon. I'll have to watch the video to refresh myself on how to do it, as it's been almost a year. The vet finally called last evening, and she said that she felt he was at the correct dosage, based on their curve and the numbers on my spreadsheet (so she did look at it!). She repeated that there was nothing in the urinalysis to indicate a problem that might be causing his excessive urination, and agreed it could just be the bartonella. I asked about the Zobaline, and after discussing it, she said that it wouldn't hurt to give it to him, so I resumed it last night. She agreed that giving him sub-qs every few days, as long as the extra pee continues, is probably a good idea. I think now, maybe, she'll trust me to do the curves myself and not insist on my bringing him in. :RAHCAT
Reading other people's condos has been so educational. That's how I found out about the Zobaline, and today I read about Rescue Remedy. I've been searching for someway to calm Harvey down - he's such a bully to Minka and Cinco and has them totally intimidated. It sounds like it's worth a try. We have a feremone diffuser going near his feeding station, and he wears a "calming collar", but he still goes ballistic if one of the other cats screeches or if Cinco gets too close. The vet even gave me some valium for him, but that just made him walk funny. Paws crossed that this is the solution I have been searching for. If it works, I am going to be ecstatic.
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all the stressed-out beans. :YMHUG:
