Hi all!
So this is the second night in a row he's a had a good PMPS and then dropped! He's eating good and he's still getting only .25u. Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help greatly appreciated!

So glad to see Nemo is eating and has lovely green numbers.
Glad you gave some HC for that 47. Test again in 30 mins to see he is on the way up again.

I just did and he's at 60! Woohoo! Happy dance and now we can sleep! I just don't know why he'd drop low 2 nights in a row? Maybe he wants off the juice! :cat:

Hi ya Bron!
I hope you didn't think I was ignoring your advice. I've been fighting some kind of bug, which makes my Lyme stuff worse. Making sure I stay on top of all Nemos meds, fluids, tests etc has just been a little harder..But we're getting thru.:) He's been good all day on his numbers, so if he goes way low again tonight it will make me wonder if the timing of his fluids has anything to do with it. I'll talk more soon.

I put out canned before I go to bed every night. This way he can have a snack if he wants and my 4 other cats don't feel they're being deprived! Lol. If he drops like he's done the last couple nights I give him HC food and try to get in at least one more test. Time to test him now. Thanks again

You le5 me know that you think you might have been giving Nemo the 0.1 unit dose already. Would I be possible for you to try measuring the number of drops in the dose you have been giving? Try loading the syringe first with the current dose, then twisting the syringe to squeeze out even sized drops. It may take a little practise. Maybe try this with some coloured liquid. I am curious whether there is a way to give less insulin or not.
 
So feeling like a horrible mother, an idiot ...and other words I can't say on here! Lol. I looked at the sticky about fine doses. I've been giving Nemo .1u when I thought i.was giving him .25u! So now what do I do? Besides be happy that I didn't hurt him!

I will do that...hopefully won't screw that up! Lol
 
We have a dose called a drop, where you push the plunger really hard, insert the syringe into the pen/vial, then release the pressure on the plunger. The vacuum pressure sucks in a drop. Try that as a dose. I think Nemo is almost done with insulin. Looking at his spreadsheet again, I noticed he had done over a week in mostly normal numbers, which also earns a reduction.

Hi again Wendy!
So far Nemo is doing great with just the drop. How long do we do the drop? Then do we go down to once a day drop or do we stop the insulin and see how he does off it? I'm gonna need more syringes soon, so I'm just trying to plan stuff out. THANK YOU!!:bighug::bighug:
 
If Nemo can go one week on a drop and stay in mostly green numbers, or if he goes below the reduction point, then post here and I'm pretty sure he'll get the go ahead to try an OTJ trial. :) Paws crossed that means 5 more days after today.
