Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty is back in the "ballpark" this morning after his day of recovering from the full-moon-induced fur shot. He was such a good host at our film party yesterday evening. He greeted each of our friends, sat for a while with several of them, retired to his basket, where he slept and snored, and then came back to the party when it was time for his bedtime shot (he didn't mind too much that his routine was postponed for about 45 minutes!). We all had a good night, but were tired this morning. After Rusty's lung treat I fell asleep during our "schmooze" and Rusty is at the moment sleeping in his perch over the radiator. We got a little more snow last night and it looks like winter again.

Wishing you all a good day and continuing to send healing vines to all who need them.

Nice recovery there for Rusty! He and Tess are headed down together! Yep, all the full moon's fault.

I'm glad you have your winter back!

Nice start for Rusty today. I hope he slides down to the lagoon. Yay for the snow and it looking more like winter.

Re: 1/17 Rusty AMPS 164, +5.5 133

Hi again,
We are having--so far--a nice, slow slide. I tried 2 teaspoons of a new food on Rusty today: Canidae Grain Free Pure Elements Chicken, Turkey, Lamb Formula simmered in chicken broth. To my surprise, he really liked it and licked the plate clean. (I have 2 cans of it but had not yet tried it because Ann told me that both Tess and Emma totally turned up their noses at it.) So we'll see if he likes it the next time (+9 snack) and we'll see if it spikes his bgs. I don't think it's on Dr. Lisa's list, but will check. The only non-meat food ingredients are sweet potatoes and sun-cured alfafa. And it is made in the US (in California).

Off to visit some condos,

Ella & Rusty

That's a nice slide for Rusty today, I hope he surfs that till PMPS. He sounds like such a nice host of a party! And smart, to catch a nap between duties :-D Woo hoo on the liking of the new fuds, sending no BG spike wishes! Hope you have a good rest of your Friday, Ella!

It looks like my wonderful new food is too high in carbs. Canidae gave me a set of numbers and the carbs came out to 13.9% (protein = 42.68%; fat = 38.0 %; carbs = 13.9%). I am a math cripple (major math phobia) and don't understand these numbers. At first the customer support person gave me protein = 9.39%; fat = [? I didn't write it down]; carbs = 3.06%. But these looked weird to me, so I asked her for a different set (one of these sets is "dry matter"). Whatever. Rusty really loved the food. I haven't seen him eat so eagerly in ages! Maybe I'll buy some more cans anyway and serve it as a treat!

Wishing you all a good evening. Rusty had a flat, blue day.

Rusty didn't even wait to eat his dinner tonight. He didn't graze!! He loves this new food and ate it and everything else in his dish at dinner time. What am I to do?? The carbs are too high! He's downstairs batting his bell balls around. A happy cat!

I looked up how to do the carb calculations on Janet & Binky's Food Table Q&A. I can't make any of the calculations come out!

ni ni,

Nice matching AM and PM PS bookends today. How often do they come out to the same number! Rusty does seem to be recovering from the full moon party.

Sorry about the new fuds being medium carb. Sweet potato usually isn't a great additive. But maybe that tells you that Rusty might be willing to try some other fuds with lamb. To do the calculation, you need either Dry Matter Basis or As Fed values. And you'll also need fiber numbers and calories.

Hi Ella!
Nice blue suit for Rusty today! :-D I had to laugh about how much he loves his new fuds and not knowing what the carbs are, because I immediately thought 'licked the plate clean MUST=high carbs' :-D Like kids with McDonald's! Hopefully it's not too bad... it's so nice when they enjoy their meal. I am currently dealing with a 5 out of 7 strike for 'fishy foods or bust' I swear, if I had the money I would start up my own food company for pets. Hmmmm.....maybe a group of us should invest!
Have a great night Ella! Scritches to sweet Rusty :-D
