Happy Furiday :)

Fistuk got 1U for his PM shot. I feel it was a good call since his bounce lasted for about 3 hours :p

Today we're down to 1.75U and we'll see how he's using it in the next few days.

I didn't know Fistuk still had some drama stints to perform for us but he's full of surprises. And today he's totally innocent looking, as a cat looks like after doing something they shouldn't :p

Other updates: I decided to postpone the surgery. Both bc of financial reasons bit also bc we're travelling in mid-Feb and I'd like to make sure I have free time and space to be with him for the month or two after the surgery.

I took an insurance for Fistuk. I used to have one but when we did the teeth extraction but didn't cover it and I ended up cancelling the insurance. I sure do regret that decision. Luckily there are insurance companies that do offer one for pets with pre-existing conditions. need to pay extra but if they're able to cover anything it'll be help, considering the rates of big events like surgery and hospitalisation.

It looks like Fistuk has heart issues. I suspected that for a long time. I had to get the proBNP number for the vet who will conduct the surgery and he's 113 (below 100 is the norm). So further tests are due but I'll suspend them until the surgery.

Wishing you all a quiet and boring day and weekend

Hello Shelly. I am glad Fistuk went up and stayed there overnight, that is stressful. I hope he will do well on his new dose.
Good idea for the insurance. That's one of my big regrets, that I did not take one!
I hope you have a good day.

Hi Shelly,
I’m glad to hear also that you were able to get some insurance. I wish I had it as well, but I don’t.

Glad to hear Fistuk is more stable today and you were able to bring him up. Good luck with the reduction :bighug:

I know you will do everything to make sure he is safe with the tests needed as you are able to do them. Sending lots of good and healthy wishes to you and your boys.
The picture of sweet Fistuk is so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing him with us.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile :)
I was still quite surprised that he went down to a green after all the high carb and honey we put into him. But he's stable today and that's good.
We don't think about insurance when they're young and healthy, do we?! Alas. I got this insurance for any future even and hopefully they'll give something
Have a great day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, so glad Fistuk came up again and the BCS-dose gave you some rest! His sweet face is really completely innocent. I am sure he enjoyed all the delicious stuff he got while being low. :cat:

Good you got an insurance! I have none for Binie. She is my first cat and I honestly didn't think about it. I forgot where in Switzerland you are but I wonder, if it would be worth to drive to Germany for planned things like surgery. Of course this is only possible, if Fistuk is o.k. with going by car. Might be much cheaper than in Switzerland. But I can imagine you already checked this.

Hope you can relax after this week and the weekend is calm and boring! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, I'm not sure if this is the most recent post, I have not been on in a while. Happy you were able to get insurance, and that Fistuk is doing ok. Will be keeping you and him in my thoughts and prayers for February surgery. Safe travels! Sending hugs and love! :bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike :)

I live in Zurich and quite close to the German border. The thing is to have a vet I can trust. For sure the prices are much much lower. Also, Fistuk is really not a good traveller. SO I'm afraid it's not really an alternative for us.

One of the joy of living in Switzeland... :p

Much love to you and Binie :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Christine :)
I'm afraid it is the lastest post :/ I've become so busy and overwhelmed that I don't get to post here as often as I wished I could!

Let's cross paws that the insurance will give something and it won't be just a waste of money. But it was worth the shot. In April we'll know.
Sending much love to you and the pack :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly,

I totally understand that. I wouldn't like to drive far with Binie as well. Happy you found a vet you can trust.

I send you hugs and a chin scratch for cute Fistuk! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
